:D Heheheh.....some engine transplant that would be!
Oops, I mean toasted by a Hartge Cooper S!
Had a drive of CooperS Boys Hartge Cooper-S last night. Its, um....quick. Before the conversion it was neck and neck with the Williams until 115mph where it crept past. This time it pulled away immediately and continued to pull away convincingly to an...

Well, Im impressed!
£20 from Halfords and worth every penny
Just on the way out to Tesco and came up behind a Daihatsu Charade Turbo. He suddenly pulled over without indicating, so I tickled the engine as I went past to signal my annoyance. About 10 seconds later this car shot up the bus lane and pulled in front of me (as in cut me right the feck up)...
Does the following sound reasonable:
Minor Service - £90
Wheel bearing change - £75
Trying to decide whether to carry on looking around for better prices. Called Ripoff Renault and they wanted:
Minor Service - £165
Wheel bearing change - £188
Con artists!
Was trying to jump start car yesterday after leaving lights on all day. Forgot to prop bonnet up. Gust of wind. Bonnet fell onto jump lead grips. Jump lead grip shaped dent in bonnet :@:@:@. More noticable than the fecking bonnet bulge.
Assuming that I decide not to set a new fashion for twin...
What sort of price should I be looking to pay for an 84000 mile service? Is it worth going to Renault or will they just overcharge? Very paranoid about being ripped off and the work not being done (by whoever I take it to). I dont even know what work should be done for an 84k service....
Ive just bought a 2nd hand Hillpower induction kit. The IK has a heat shield, but it is in a bit of a dozy place (The side furthest away from the engine!). The top of the IK is totally open and the hole for the air feed is tiny. The result is what feels like a major loss of power at all revs...
Ive drove the WIlliams back from work, parked it up and all was fine. Went out about an hour later and opened it using the central locking key thing, put the key in the ignition, turned it on, and there was a low pitched beep and then the alarm went off.
Couldnt turn the alarm off with the...
I phoned up Tesco today to get my girlfriend added to the Williams insurance. From now until my renewal date (14 days away), they have charged me £13.50. That seems to work out at about £350 a year. Seemed a bit steep, but I paid it and asked for them to give me a renewal quote. The figure they...
The driver side rear wing has some bubbling under the paint and a bit of rust that has broken through the paint. I obviously want to sort this out asap, but i cant afford to have the whole panel taken off and re-sprayed. A friend reckons it is a small enough are to have re-painted and blended...
How much would I be looking to pay for an exhaust system for the Willy from including a silenced de-cat and back. Also, would it be possible to use the original backbox (its just had a new one.....might as well use it)?
Rhys
Ive got a straight through de-cat pipe to fit to the Willy. When I had it on before it buzzed like a b*****d bumble bee which sounded sh*te and was generally annoying. Is there any way I can re-fit the pipe without it buzzing? Is there some sort of gasket I can put on it? Special Anti-Buzz...
Ive just had a new cat fitted by the gimps who sold me the car and Ive just been told by an independednt garage that there are no washers on the bolts and no gasket so the friggin thing is blowing.
Until I can face getting it sorted out, is it okay to keep running the car? What does a blowing...
Craggy mentioned something to me about these £10 digital thermometers from Halfords, and that people had managed to set them up as air intake temperature gauges by running the cable through to the engine bay.
The effect of air temp. on performance is of interest to me, so Im going to have a go...
Ive got a new catalytic converter on the Willy now and Ive come to a conclusion. Its definitely quicker without one (particularly over 4500rpm). The engine doesnt feel strangled or anything with the cat on, it just feels a lot more free at high revs.
I would recommend a silenced de-cat though...
Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy back. Ive got my Willy...

Went down with Craggy in his VTS. Other Clios there included a silver MK2 172, a Cup, a 16ver (didnt see it do any runs though) and an RSi. There was also a CTR there.
As for the times.....until the point that we left:
172 MK2 - lots of times at around 15.8 and a 15.6
172 Cup - 14.97...
Just spotted the following in the small print of the Leon Cupra-R advert:
"The maximum power outputs are quoted in PS (or Pferdestarke, which is the metric equivelant of horsepower). To convert from metric to imperial horsepower, divide the PS figure by 1.0139"
Ive seen PS mentioned on here...
Just on my way to Tesco (via the scenic route!) when I got to some traffic lights where 1 lane expands into 2. I set off and moved into the right hand lane, and this Ford Galaxy that was behind me floored it and tried to undertake me. This pissed me off so I floored it too (yeah, slapped wrists...
Ive posted about the problems that I had with my Williams since buying it, and today I finally got a resolution. The biggest problem was the locking wheel nuts being jammed on and the "keys" being broken. The dealer seemed to accept no responsibility for this, so I phoned Trading Standards and...
Ive uploaded about 30 clio videos to a web site. Let me know if any links dont work. Ive put short descriptions so you can tell whether or not youve seen the clip before along with approx. file sizes.
