You can reset the adjuster though, disconnect the cable from the clutch fork, press the pedal in, then pull the cable out the other end and reconnect to the fork.
Theres a little plastic screw thing near the wing, push the inside of it down, remove the screw, remove the rubber bonnet seal and the scuttle panel just clips off. Its easy to get off as it allows access to the pollen filter. Youll then be able to see it.
Its very confusing because later ph1s had the twin cat still but with 2 lambda sensors, but it was the same length... But then Ive seen an exclusive that has the ph2 style cat but I cannot remember if it was the longer type identical to the ph2.
As above if its working ok leave it, mines runs fine on the original and Im on 87k miles. As long as its had cambelt kit, aux belt kit, spark plugs, air, oil, cabin filters, gearbox oil and engine oil, brake and coolant bleed it will be fine.
The back box is the same, the centre section is different, it has a longer piece at the front to accommodate the shorter cat. Its about an inch and a half longer. They are not swappable.
The 1.2 authentique is the most reliable clio there is, its the most basic spec one so there is nothing much that can go wrong with them. I used to have one from new and now my brother has it, its on 78k and not one thing has gone wrong with it. The cambelt and aux belt needs to be done at 72k...
They dont have pad wear sensors, it could have been the brake fluid getting low as the pads were low. Id still check the fluid level now they're changed though.
search for "dci differences" and tick the search thread titles and have a read through. Theres a few in the trade that dread the dci100 gearbox, theres been one or 2 posts on here with members that have had problems. To be honest the dci100s are quite rare. You can buy a dci 65 and get it...
The dci 65 has a small turbo and no intercoller, the 80 runs a bit more turbo boost and has intercooler and different injectors. dci 80 also has a better gearbox similar to 172. The dci 100 has uprated turbo, injectors, intercooler, pistons, different intake but a crap gearbox.
As mentioned the rears can be wound back with a screwdriver put across the slots. THe fronts can be pushed back in with a G clamp, on the fron calipers theres even a slot in the middle of the caliper for access. Make sure you get the rear pads the right way round.
Youll also need a tub of copper grease, dont bother with any of that spray on stuff. Ive never had a problem with getting the torx bolt off myself but I have heard lots of horror stories on here.
Corsas are 4X100 but the centre bore is smaller, if the wheels have removable spigot rings they may fit. The centre bore on vauxhalls is 56.6, clios are 60.1. Youd also be better off with 15"s or 16"s
