Cant remember what the top mount is like on the clio but I had a similar thing on my megane after a few garages fitting and trying most things I cured it by spliting the top mount and fitting a tiny washer to space it slightly.
Come to change the diff seal on my ph1 as its leaking but I cant work out how to remove the old one as access is prety tight laid on my back looking up.
Dont want to go forcing it out and knacking something else!

Need a bit more advice,
Before ordering the bits i removed the drip tray and cleaned everything up oil defiantely looked to be coming from diff seal so whilst i was under there i pushed the drive shaft in and out pushed the seal etc and as result its no longer leaking :S Been on a few drives...

Whacked the starter with a bar and now the celunoid is clicking but starter is doing nothing so im presuming thats the problem looks a nightmare to change though !
Checked relays, Battery terminals and fuses. Convinced its not Battery, As its always been a crap starter by turning over slowly before firing i'm hoping its a dodgy earth or live wire to the starter, Don't fancy changing starter looks a nightmare job :(

Sorted now in my rush I had managed to rebuild the struts wrong :$ On a plus note i'm now quite good at removing and refitting struts lol
Missus has given it another test drive and says it seems to be riding and handling a lot better so hopefully it will be o.k on tomorrows re test for MOT...

Springs are seated right and checked top mounts but its still turning the springs with the steering , Can feel it on the road never mind tight turning !!!

Yup the missus is well happy with them ( she drives it 95% of the time ) will check them tomorrow. Just hoping I have built struts back up right as I did it from memory and it seemed straight forward might try and find an exploded diagram to double check though lol
Just realised I tightened the strut top nut tight before locking it off so I could have twisted spring around a bit :$

Just replaced the springs on my 172 thought I had done them right however its fine when driving normally but when turning tight i.e parking I can hear the springs groaning and then turning on the shock under full lock I can even feel it on steering wheel. Have I done something wrong :$
