Argh!! After spending about 30mins trying to the darn thing off, i spent at least that trying to get it back on after I flushed the coolant! Gave up in the end because I was getting too frustrated, i just couldn't pull it back enough to get it on the radiator pipe, I even tried unbolting the top...
The connector on the top was pretty loose, i clipped it back on and it seems to be idling ok but still a little 'chuggy'? When i pulled it off it didnt make any difference nor if i left it off and started the engine? :S
Yeah just found it on the forum under iscv! Where exactly is it and what does it look like? So far I've found its on the left side? is that passenger side or drivers side :S
I swear I've seen a few threads on this over time but now I need them I can't find them so sorry if this has been answer a few times!
Basically car was running fine, was driving around for a couple of hours then all of a sudden came to a set of lights and the revs dropped and it stalled...
Its not very challenging to change imo, before you start though, remove the petrol pump fuse from under the bonnet then run the car till it cuts out a few times.
When you go to take the pipes off the filter wear gloves and get a tray underneath as u will get petrol coming out, not too much though!
On my old mk1 RT same thing happened, it was the resistor thing under the dash in the engine bay that needed replacing, takes a little while but isn't difficult
Battery first died about a month ago, had it jumped started charged for about 60mins soon as i turned it off it died again...
Got a new battery, month down the line same thing happens again! I heard this might be something to do with the immobiliser? Any ideas?
i got quoted around £60 all in from ats, that was just front though...
tbh do it yourself, isn't that difficult and saves you a lot of money, and if you can find a decent set of pads from a scrappy you're laughing!
Chris mate I swear I told you before, but im 90% sure its because your haven't got a genuine renault cable. I had a non-genuine one on my old RT and it was about as heavy as yours, soon as I fitted a Renault one it was much lighter!
Power steering is extremely loud can hear it outside the car like 10m away! This is when its not moving and you turn the wheels! Is the pump on the way out or should I just drain the steering fluid, use some forte and renew it?
I took the bonnet off pulled the raidiator forward a bit then stuck my hand past the alternator(?) and got it off that way... cut my hand to sh*t though and getting the new one on is a pain in the ass!
