I need to get a cleaning kit for a used ktec induction kit and have been looking at the itg one. It looks like they do two different types of filter oil though: a light duty dust retention spray and a heavier duty filter oil. Which one do people usually get for general use? Thanks
I've been doing some cover shifts on a different site this week and instead of my usual 14 mile round trip to work it's been more in the region of 40 mostly motorway miles. I'm actually pleasantly surprised how pleasant the 172 has been to commute in tbh. Averaging over 36mpg (whilst not...
Not quite 90s, but I saw an F reg Fiesta on the M4 yesterday on the way home from work, and it looked tiny. Made my Clio look big in comparison, which is crazy because when I park my Clio next to most newer hatches it looks small...
Apparently it's something to do with carbon build up, although I thought that would have the opposite effect. Either way, it's definitely louder and bassier than when it was fitted. Sounds epic ?
I had my pro speed non resonated cat back exhaust fitted about a week ago, and at first was surprised that it was quieter than I expected. It had a nice raspy tone, but was not overly loud. I've since gone through a tank of v power, so just under 250 miles, and it's definitely gotten louder. I...
See this is the weird part, mine is the exact opposite. Gear change is far smoother with standard mount and much less vibration. Polybush was horrendous. Even the whining noise from my dying gearbox is a lot less now. I can't explain it ?
As title really. Had one fitted to my car when I bought it and I hated it. Vibration was ridiculous. Gone back to a standard one and the difference is night and day. Car feels smoother, no horrible vibration and just a whole lot nicer. Am I in the minority? ?
Yeah, he's very reasonable price wise.
He only charged me £105 for oil and filter change, fit dog bone gearbox mount and power steering switch and an mot (I supplied parts).
Problem solved. They are vented TRW's, not solid. It was a miscommunication as when I spoke to them they thought I'd asked if they were drilled and grooved.
@imprezaworks £160 fitted for new front discs, pads and fluid change.
I've had a quote off George recently. Wish I'd ordered from him now but was hoping the discs would last a bit longer. Sadly though they're shot and need changing. I'm a bit surprised you can even get solid front discs for the 172 tbh...
Thankfully my 172 passed it's mot today, however it needs front discs and pads. I'm getting them done whilst it's in the garage, rather than ordering the parts myself as need it sorted today. Garage is using TRW brake discs, which I've heard are decent, however he's ordered solid rather than...
Got the car back today and the exhaust is spot on. Not too loud, but has a nice tone to it. Charlie's workmanship is spot on and I would definitely recommend him.
I agree the disklock is a good piece of kit, I had one years ago on my old valver. Shame they're still so expensive though. I just need an extra layer of security as can't currently arm the alarm due to uch unit not responding to key fob, so have to lock manually.
Looking at getting one of these as they have pretty good reviews. Does anyone here use one on a 172/182? Just want to make sure it will fit around the spokes of the bus sized standard steering wheel, as they are pretty thick.
Just ordered some Elf 5w40. I'll get that in there next week and keep an eye on level. Will feel better knowing what oil is actually in my car other than the unknown brand used by garage and Mobil 1 I've been topping up with ?
Is original engine at the moment (as far as I know lol), was just thinking if it needs one further down the line it's considerably cheaper to buy a used one than to have a rebuild.
Yeah, I kind of of have that in the back of my mind tbh. My gearbox whines a bit too, so may well be a used engine and box job at some point in the future...
How does it compare to elf?
As mentioned above I have no idea what brand 5w40 the garage put in my car. When pushed all they said was it's low ash. Probably some cheap cr*p which is likely not helping things...
