Well, I took the cover off the ECU bracket, gave the connector at the top a wiggle, then the red engine light stopped blinking. Lo and behold, the car fired up. Freak incident, or something I should be wary of in the future? Many thanks for the tips and advice everyone.

Ok, can't really get that much of the loom unless I take drastic action, and I'm not there yet. I gave the UCH a few wiggles and taps, and now the immobiliser light is off, but the blinking red engine STOP is still on. It appears to now be cranking but not sparking.

Ordered brand new. When I pull them all the way out, they do appear to retract a little, but not rebound to the same extent as the rear shocks when I replaced those.

Probably just to be annoying. Airbags like ABS are a !!!SAFETY!!! ***RED ALERT*** type thing so it's made to be as completely unfriendly as possible. Then they ironically become fragile and useless as we all know with the airbag lights coming on and such.

Yikes, almost a year ago! The Mate n Lok connectors still appear to be holding, with only one incident where the air bag lights came on for 30 minutes, then nothing once we restarted the car. It's total bogus.

Don't quote me on this, but I would have thought the yaw sensor was for the ESP, I don't think it was tied to the ABS or anything. Happy to stand corrected.

Buying new seals and intend to get a genuine camshaft timing tool, and am going to take off aux belt and as much of the belt covers as possible to reach the tensioner and attempt to take off the pulleys. Hopefully, once the pulleys off I can see for sure whether I cocked up installing the seals...

I can only assume it is either of the camshaft seals, the ones I've replaced alongside the cambelt and stuff. Either I've cocked it up, or the rocker cover itself is also leaking. I don't think the plastic cambelt lower cover would be showing signs if the crank seal was leaking too. I want to...

Yes it is. Not sure if leaking from above it or being flung from the driveshaft underneath it though. Might not make a difference.

I would have thought so. The Clio we got had a set of headlights in the boot. I believe they are different beam angles for jaunts into Europe, and didn't look like Xenons, so presumably they plugged all in the same place, one for the lights and one for the angle motor?

Costco do one, folds up when not used. As an addition, are there any storage options in lieu of the spare wheel? We have a 172, and haven't really bothered putting the spare wheel back in, but that leaves a void that at least needs some cover on to stop things creasing up the boot carpet.

I think its supposed to be EBC redstuff that is this ceramic based one, dunno if its available for the clios? Also dunno about them in general, was tempted to try them on whichever car needed them next. Sure they should be sufficient for road use.

Yes, you are right, the pulleys are meant to be floating. Just that the crankshaft one wasn't. So had to take the belt off and get a pry bar on the teeth of the bottom pulley and it slowly came free. Looks like there was residue of what looks like red loctite around the inside of that pulley...
