    ^^^^Good man^^^^ Except............ It doesn't have the chassis of the Focus, the punch (and unrulyness) of the Astra, the class and build of the Golf Gti or the competence of an Impreza. Lard ass and one dimensional. Competent but soulless.

    Lots of talk about manhood in connection with Clio V6's. In all honesty it's not in the same mould as a 350Z, Cayenne or Dodge Viper. I reckon V6 owners have got gonads the size of coconuts and a similar sized trunk.

    No, it has poor steering feel, great chassis and a good engine but not enough power from it.

    Autocar-online have their 2006 handling day on streaming video and Chris Harris is driving a 197 with in car footage and commentary. Very succinct, high praise for the chassis but says the engine needs more poke and the steering needs more feel. Well worth a look.

    I kind of expected that answer and yes, I have it and yes, it is resolutely on it's lowest setting. I still feel like I should be ordering a pint of lager and a packet of salt and vinegar, instead of driving a car. Isn't this a common complaint?

    Heavy, sticky throttle.

    The throttle pedal on my '01 172 is heavy and difficult to modulate, is this normal? The cable is ok and if I play with the mechanism under the bonnet the operation is smooth but heavy, as if it has too strong a spring on it. It makes smooth driving a pain in the proverbial. Any fixes?

    I've just realised Karl that you're an 'armrest ponce' it's a common problem amongst 'civilised' car owners. As I said before, get rid of the Clio it'll cripple you!
