Good post 1985michael182. My car is 5 years old. I bought it used from Renault and it has a years warranty, although not sure if paint is covered, so I need to review my paperwork. The company who Admiral has appointed to do the work are actually a specialist coach-works company, which surprised...
Personally I don't care how much it costs I just want the job done properly. I don't really agree with shafting people with unnecessary costs, but appreciate that's how the industry works, sadly. You're assassin must a received a nice renewal quote the following year.
Christ - over 20K? I'm guessing it wasn't a Renault he hit. Thing is if I go through my insurer can I tell them I want the work done by a Renault dealer? It's mainly paint touch-up - but they would probably a re-spray of the entire front bumper. Not sure what to do really.
Hi folks,
Long story short - some idiot reversed into me yesterday. Damage to my car was minimal thankfully (scuffed / scratched paint and a big dent in my Renault badge). He has admitted fault (with the roads being so quiet recently he didn't think it was necessary to check his mirrors before...
I've only ever used Autoglym EGP as a paint sealant, but due to comments on here Sonax Xreme Protec & Shine Hybrid NPT has caught my attention. Sounds like a good product without the curing time of EGP? Would you use it over SRP or use a SONAX polish instead. Paintworks in good nick bar some...
Folks: is Auto Finesse Tough Coat still a current product? Can't see it listed anywhere on their website. Out of stock on Amazon and noted listed on Halfrauds and the like. Been out of the detailing game for a bit so a bit behind on what's hot and not.
Cheers.
OK, 1st post since June 2015 believe it or not. Pretty much gave gave up on car detailing when I bought a new (old) house which demanded all of my time, work and money. As a result I spent more time waxing my new toilet seat at weekends and left my old X-red MK2 to suffer at the hands of a local...

You can pre-order the new Gordini RS at 1:43 scale, but not much else available.
http://www.universalhobbies.net Might be worth a try.
I work in diecasting as it happens, but haven't done any Clio's yet - mostly Bond Car collections and a few large 1:8 scale...
I'll add to the thread resurrection if I may; having recently changed my battery. I've figured out how to enter the code, however the radio frequency code confirmed in my service manual is a five digit number, but the radio only wants a four digit code? Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in...
Apologies for the forum resurrection but having recently replaced a battery I now have the radio issue. It displays the 0000 numbers but no matter what buttons I press on the head unit or control stick it just beeps back. I’ve tried everything. Any suggestions?
Another FOB query: key fob won't trigger central locking or immobilizer, although the once the car is unlocked manually it will start no problem. I then resynchronize as described above and everything then works as it should. However I have to go through all this every time I use the car. The...
Hi all,
The engine on my 1.4S (X-plate) has started to make a loud clattering noise on startup. It disappears after 20-odd seconds which made me think that perhaps it was low on oil, but the level appears to be normal. Any thoughts? Sounds like the valves clattering away.
Ta in advance.
Think I may have worn wheel bearing(s) on the rear, but just want to ask what the obvious signs are. I haven’t jacked up the car yet to see if there’s any play/wheel movement, but a few weeks back a droning noise started to become audible above 70mph. Now the noise appears between 30-40mph, but...
I also need some advice on how to handle a situation concerning the failure of a Kwik-Fit garage to properly diagnose and problem.
Few weeks back I noticed a change in the exhaust note; a bit deeper with a fart-like blowing sound coming off throttle, particularly in first. As I was due to...
Actually, couldn't wait until tomorrow so popped popped out and tried it; worked a treat - sorted. Many thanks for the advice. Cliosport never fails to deliver.
Didn't work :(
Are you sopposed to this with the key in the ignition? Holding the central lock button (button with padlock symbol?) down didn't do anything - just locked and then unlocked again after a few seconds; no flash from the immobiliser or headlights. I held down the other button (car...
I’ve had a trawl through the various threads on key fob issues, but couldn’t find anything to match my query... basically my key fob won’t activate central locking/immobilizer. I’ve replaced the battery and the red lights flashes when I press the button, so I assume all’s well with the switch...
Has anyone with a Samsung Galaxy Ace experienced problems with the voicemail notifications? I have a notification alert which I simply cannot seem to get rid of. I called my own mobile phone from a landline to leave a message, just to test if the function worked. I recorded and left a message...
I have a 1.4 Clio Sport, in Vertigo Green. It's an awesome colour and despite the fact it's over the hills (model wise), someome recently asked me if it had been resprayed. I bought it secondhand and it came with a 'sport' badge beneath the Clio mark. Always assumed this was a Halfrauds add-on...
Hi all
I’m probably one of the few people left on the planet without a mobile phone, however I quite fancy a smart phone mainly for internet usage.
I’m thinking of going down the contract-free route of buying an unlocked phone, but wondered if this is the best way? I will rarely use the...
Right, power consumption of hoover = 1200 watts. Therefore a 13 AMP / 250 volt connector should be fine, based on the Amps x Volts = Watage. The max load of my connector would therefore be 3'250 watts?
This is what I'm using btw...
Thanks for this. You're no doubt correct, the 13 AMP ref on the plug does not relate to the power consumption of the hoover which, based on what've said sounds excessive. I have since managed to find a 2-core 13 AMP connector so I should be safe to use this, assuming the hoover will be well...
