Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
Cage looks good....seen it on monday when I picked mine up.
Yours is a little more complex than mine.
What sort of weight do you think the cage had added?
Chris
I bought mine with a suspect timing belt failure, thats a 2003 car with just under 60k on it.
Cause of failure was part of the aux belt getting inside the timing cover.
I had one in 2 weeks ago with just over 60k on the same year with the same problem.
I thought mine was damaged also when I bought the 182 manifold for my 172 till i checked the next 182 that came into work then realised that was the same.....then the next one I had in was the same also.
Your clocking the miles up mate.....lol
Im going to have to come out one night with you Lee but you'll have to pick me up....when the Clio is back together ill bring that out for a couple of nights when the engine needs running in.
I ran a048's on my saxo track car and loved them but they were expensive.
I run 888's now on the Clio and cant fault them for the price they are. They were £65 each from Camskill last time i checked and if i ordered 4 i got free postage.

I have a Piper system on my track car that comes with the 182 trim for the bumper. Will work out more than £350 with a decat but is a really nice system.
Ill see if i can get some pictures of my piper one tomorrow whens it on the ramp.
You may fine they didnt cut the bumper in the correct place and had to "modify" the exhaust to fit the bumper cut.
I fit piper systems every day to all sorts of cars and they are always a good fit.
I've tried the "mickey mouse" tools and as Fred says there are useless....the D shaped one just bends and causes your timing to be out.
Ive now got the full renault set and they are far superior than the cheaper alternatives.
I think the springs are quite soft as we were getting cathing problems when going through certain corners at donington and mine was only lowered 30mm
Im not sure where ours was catching as that was the least of my worrys by the end the day as you know!!!
Every Piper exhaust ive fitted has fitted perfect including the one on my 172.
Wouldnt expect the 182 one to be any different fitment wise.Should be a quality exhaust
im unsure what realistic gains you would get....rs tuning know there stuff the same as the company that modify my maps. Its an art in itself being able to map properly.
I should have my map back tomorrow ill keep you informed what difference it makes.
if you are going to get it done on the rollers go to rs tuning mate.If i couldnt do it myself for nothing id be going there....i still might yet...ill see what i can get out of it first though.
Ive just put a set of the Vmaxx coilovers on my Cup and they seem ok to be honest for the price.
They give you quite range of lowering on the front though the backs dont go down as much.
Ive just lowered mine 30mm for the minute and its only a little harder than the standard cup suspension...
i wonder who told you to do that!!!!!!
if you want mate call round tomorrow and we'll have a look for you and see if it is possible to do it the way i said.
