Wheel bearing noise, not a wheel bearing.

Haha, many thanks for a little peace of mind! It's quite an unnerving noise :rasp:

Wheel bearing noise, not a wheel bearing.

Hi everyone, just to warn you this could be long, so thanks to anyone who reads it. I have a 1998 1.6 RXE and it has just gone over 100k miles. I started getting a humming noise which disappeared when I turned left. When I jacked each wheel of the car up, I found that the rear passenger side...

    Interference & Non-Interference Engines

Hi everyone, Right I've discovered my cambelt is overdue for a change but am pretty tight on money at the mo. I'm not technically minded although my dad is so although I suspect he (or me with his help :P) could change the belt, i'd rather pay for it, and have a friendly chap who will do it for...

    what is to much red?

I'm not sure why but as a personal preference i don't like red/black on these models, looks nicer on a 197 IMO. However i think if you're going to do that you should do it all except the diamonds, there was one recently on here that had red diamonds for a bit, looked awful. I think best thing...

Advice need on buying a Clio Renaultsport 172

It might look like a bargain, but at the end of the day i'd say it's a far safer bet to not buy the car - you might be missing a bargain, but you've given a pretty hefty list of things you are worried about. You're parting with quite a bit of cash, so you really need to be worry free when you're...

    Direct Line ?

My friend wrote his clio off and they paid within a few days, seemed pretty good.

    Steering wheel problem

Ah excellent, i had visions of my student loan disappearing on my car... well it probably will anyway. Cheers for the help!

    Steering wheel problem

Yeah, this is what i had assumed it most likely was, its a fairly old car as well - i'm assuming this could end up being expensive if it is this? cheers

    Steering wheel problem

No it does it everywhere, dual carriageways, on the drive etc, it's not just a small amount either.

    Steering wheel problem

I have to pull the wheel slightly to the right to go in a straight line on my ickle RXE and i refuse to accept its going to be anything expensive because it's not allowed to be. The cheapest option i can think of is that there has been some work on the steering wheel and it was not replaced...

    Crashed my Clio

Depends on their valuation, they use Glass's don't they? One of my mates just wrote of his 56 plate campus, paid £4200 at a dealer, just got £4900!

    Which gauges?

Seems a bit pointless, but kind of cool in a way. Get a needle and spring, connect it to the loud pedal and write 'Warp Speed' on the gauge.

Nah, i've never met him actually, he frequents a biking forum i'm on, he'll go far with his camera though, i'm sure!

    My Clio (Newbie)

Looking good! Wouldn't go too overboard on the white though - looks nice as it is :D. edit - now seen the second update - does deffo look better with the new alloys... i love the colour so much, wish i didn't have a green one :(

    My new Clio :D

    My new Clio :D

I have to say im slightly tempted to stick yellow alloys on... it'll either look really good, or so so bad.. probably the latter.

    My new Clio :D

Yeah, same as me, green wouldn't have been my first choice, although i have to say it does looks smart, it's just not quite the image i'd like to portray :P. Good to have the work done though, should be a fairly sound buy. At the end of the day as long as it's been looked after 100k shouldn't...

    My new Clio :D

Good choice on first car :P. Right, now, i'm not trying to 'rain on your parade' or anything, but am i the only one who doesn't think this is a fantastic deal? It's not a bad deal by the looks of it i guess... is the work you listed the only work thats been done? Also, as i'm not that 'up to...

It's Here :o) New RS200 with Cup Chassis

It'd be a bit unfair for everyone to start commenting on performance though, since most of us haven't driven one :P. I'm sure it drives beautifully :P

It's Here :o) New RS200 with Cup Chassis

I think it's a fantastic looking car... im undecided about the CC'd bumper though, both look great in my opinion! It has to be said though, the way the clio is headed i'd say its losing some of its original appeal, but steal a great shape/look and no doubt a lovely car to drive!

    Strange 'film' on lights?

Ah, i was on there earlier but didn't spot the headlight correction... that seems to be exactly what im looking for, although i'm only down in staines once a month at the most :(. I'll have a bit of a dig around google though, i wasn't aware it was a common issue :D. Thanks alot! Edit - Found...

    Strange 'film' on lights?

@Moz - Was using autoglym shampoo, however this was on the car on the firday i purchased, i just assumed it'd wash off easily lol I'll get some pictures soon :) @Jordi - That sounds about right, it's really bugging me because it makes the car look older IMO :( Machine polishing sounds like it...

    Strange 'film' on lights?

I got the new (actually quite old) clio home yesterday after buying it on friday and even after cleaning (not extensively mind, just a wash over and a polish) this film that appeared on the paintwork and lights is still on the lights (it only seems to be on the front). It's slightly rough to the...

Surely if the immobiliser battery runs out the car will lock up? I'm assuming the immobiliser needs to be removed.

Cheap Insurance for an 18 Year Old

He was pulled by the fuzz, all checked out fine - that said it was previously owned by someone who worked at a garage and had the commercial insurance (i forget what its actual name is) in the name of his mate, maybe he just left the car on the policy or something :S. I should probably add to...
