    Rust proofing

Any local garage can do it for you, its a messy job so it needs to be done in a well ventilated area, if you want to tackle it yourself you can buy it in an aerosol form, i think a aerosol tin is around £6 each, they are small tins but do go quite a long way. Carl

    Noisy engine

Agree with above the dephaser pullies are quite common but more so on the megane models. The part is around £100 to buy and is a main dealer part only, if your in there then i would have the complete cam belt setup replaced too as a precaution. Carl

    Anyone stripped a faulty dephaser?

I dont quite get your logic, if you work for a warranty company i imagine you get a few of these pop up that you as a company have to pay out on, they are more or less a sealed unit, if its failed then thats it, it has to be replaced, what does it matter what has happened inside it etc, from...

SILVER 182 SPARYED LIQUID YELLOW DONE FOR JUST UNDER £1000 YOUR THOUGHTS?

Have to agree with most on this, try and get the car you want, as for respraying a car its a pain and there will always be little bits that will get missed, normally door shuts/engine bay. Silver isnt that bad a colour anyway. Carl
