I bought my 182 last Thursday and proceeded to sorting out all the little bits it needed. The tracking was definitely out and the steering felt dodgy at times so I wanted to refresh the front suspension and make it feel fresh. When changing the track rod ends at the wheel alignment centre, we...
Ladies and Gents I present to you my Little Tike.
So on the 19th of April me and my Dad took part in our first track day in our recently put together 182 that we bought at the end of January. We've done little bits and bobs to the car to get it fighting fit over the last couple of months...
Starting a thread of my newly purchased Clio 172!
I'm not a new comer to the track scene, I recently decided to break my Peugeot 205 XL track car, a bit of special one, I built a forged TU5j4 with jenveys for her, completely ground up rebuilt the car and perfected the handling over years of...
Have some melted rubber on the rubber side wall (pic is worst one) and about 2-2.5mm of tread approx across the tyre. Not sure if just melted a little or pickup off the track? Seen similar for sale and just wanted too check.
Cheers

Just away to order these as there is slight play on the passenger side so may as well tackle both.
Could someone confirm that these are the correct ones?
606745275 and 606745285 I did post a link but it didn't like it.
I have done a bit of searching on here and they seem to be the correct ones...
Hi All,
Just picked up a 172 Cup on a 53 plate it has had a fair life I think on the track before.
Have a few bits to sort someone has modified the gear linkage to reduce the throw, anyway 1st is impossoble to hook up and it is like a spoon in a big bowl when in any gear so assume some...
Hi all! Thought it was probably about time I started a little project thread on here. Not been very active yet on here but have been a member for some time.
Last July I bought myself another 172 (had one before but only for about 4 weeks as it was a bit of a shed). Picked up a decent Pearl...
Hi all
Im at a tracking place for a 4 wheel adjustment. The geezer says he can only do the front as theres no rear adjusters ? Car is clio 182.. is this right
I thought I would share some photos of my car with you all. As I'm finally pleased with how it's come together.
Had this Cup four years and taken her out 5 times! Going out tomorrow to Pembrey for an MLR Sprint, so looking forward to that.
I'm wondering if there are any pads which work acceptably from cold, survive on track on a standard power 172 and have R90 European approval?
EBC Yellowstuff do, I've emailed them to confirm bluestuff and they arent approved.
Ferodo aren't type approved
Mintex 1144 seem to not be approved but...
Hi all, New member here and new to Clio ownership. I was previously using an old Mazda MX5 for trackdays but last year it was time to change vehicle. Having seen loads of these Clios flying round tracks i decided to give one a go.
A good friend and owner of a awesome Trophy helped me locate the...
Ok guys I've got my eye on a Milltek Resonated System with decat pipe, I've also read good reviews on the Scorpion cat back resonated SRN019.
The car will be used for track days and some weekend fun, I don't want something too loud obviously I need to pass the noise tests and I also hate too...

Basically I fancy seeing what my car has got without getting banned from driving, its a 1.2 16v.
Now i'm just wondering if there is any point in me going to a track day with a 1.2, or can you even do track days with a 1.2 lol. Also would it f**k my car up?
The tyres and brakes are pretty...
Im new to this forum, I picked up this clio 182 at a bargain price of £999. Full service history with belts etc and clutch done 4 months ago and 88k on the clock.
Gave it a quick wash and started stripping the interior out. Needs a new front bumper and disc and pads all round.
I'm seeing quite a few £12-£1600 172 clio sports out there for sale and am thinking of getting one for a track car.
Some are at 80K ish miles and a lot are 100 - 120K or up to 140K miles on the clock.
Is mileage a big thing to be concerned about or as long as it has been serviced regularly...
Hi Guys
I had boiled the fluid on the trackday a month back and bled the fluid at the weekend. However I only bled the dirty fluid and didn't flush it all through as I have done previously. Do I need to flush more than the dirty fluid after or will this be enough?
Thanks
Hi i Had a black '02 phase 2 track car with full weld in cage on oz f1's following me this morning down poynters lane in shoebury.
Car looked great, thought i'd see if he was on here.
Hi everyone
New member here, just want to pick everyone's brains with how best to set my brakes up for limited road use (20 miles per week) and track day use. The car is going to be built as a full track ready car and is an 03 plate 172 (not cup).
Fortunately one of my best mates is a mechanic...
Hi All
A newbie to the site, so unsure of protocols etc.
I'm looking into buying a Clio to start doing a few trackdays.
I have done bike days for the past 7 or 8 years and ended up spending way too much £ on stuff!!! culminating in buying a race prepped GSXR600 and a crate load os...
Hi all
just a quick question that I hope someone might know the answer to.
After lowering my 1.2 clio I now have bad bump steer, the only kits to correct this I can find will only fit the 182/172 track rods.
Does any one know if the 182 track rods will fit onto the 1.2 clio as a straight swap...
Hi guys
I am looking for a cheap track car to do a few days in, that's all it'll be used for but needs to be road legal.
What's better the PH1 or PH2 and why ? There are a couple of cars as an example on ebay, one a track car already and lots of standard cars, I like the idea of both for...
I am new to the clio world but this is my 182 track car project.
It will be a slow process but i will keep this updated as and when i change parts. I hope you like it :)
So yesterday was my 18th birthday and Dad has said he would like to pay for me to do a track day. It's nothing serious just wanted to have a little bit of fun and try driving on a track.
Question is what sort of track day should I go on? Or would it be better to have an instructor session?
Any...
Hi all, thought I'd make my first post. I'm about to replace the ditchfinders on my 172 cup (standard). Mixed brand and tread depth on the rear! Absolutely no confidence in the wet.
It's mainly for road use. I don't commute, I bought the car for the B roads, bored of a heavy BMW 330. I want to...
It's only a half cage. Someone told me that if I had a cage they wouldn't let me on. Even though it's my first proper track day. I'm looking to give a £100 evening session at Brands a go shortly.
Of course I can give them a call but just happen to be wondering now when they're closed.
Cheers

Hi
I've just signed up as I've purchased my first Clio 182 mainly for a bit of weekend fun and a few trackdays per year. I've owned a number of 205gti's in the past in various specs so I'm not completely new to french.
I'm planning a shopping list to get the car to a bit better spec for the...
