Because as everyone else that build one offs on here ,
without tryin to sound like a dick!
my choice, my desision, I have the two cars to make the one off so whynot :)

at the end of the day, it's a learning curve, f**k ups will be made but also being a fun project for me.

Also to add, it's quiet (sp ) a big gain over the standard dci lump as naff all way of taking them past 130bhp mark.
where as I'm fitting the pd lump, allows vast tuning abilities

I'd rather a 300bhp pd lump than a 300bhp 1.8t lump.

In what?

A shopping car then yes as its better on economy, but then you dont need 300bhp to go shopping.

As a trackday car I would sooner have the petrol, and everyone else would sooner you do too, the black clouds of smoke billowing out of diesels are pretty unpleasant on trackdays where people might be in single seaters having to drive through it etc as they overtake you.

Cool, so long as you think about the time and money costs involved and if you are going to get enough back to make it worthwhile.

Dont get me wrong I do a lot of big projects myself so im not against them, but in my time working for modified car mags etc and even on forums the number of people who end up starting stuff without really thinking about it and then regreting or not finishing it is huge.
Especially any project that starts with "I want to do this because its "different"..."

Sorry, at what point does a standard clio 1.5dci become a shopping trolley?
If People really do have a problem with me building this then I'm sorry but I'm doing it, I know what costs are involved as Iv looked into it. It ain't going to be pretty. Yes I won't make money back but that I could care less.

i already have a dci for ' shopping ' so this one can be ragged around a track, dragged at santapod at my hearts delight.
I'll even use it as a blooming road car for that fact
The black smoke is neither a big problem or issue, a good diesel mapper can balance between smoke and power. Not wanting to chuck sutt out like a big yank truck.

i do get your point chip, but seeing it from my point of view , all will come aparent

Cool, so long as you have considered the bigger picture and you have a use for it at the end mate, sounds a mildly interesting project so I will certainly subscribe to it, just didnt want you to go charging in without thinking about it :)

Just need to clear some workspace now, and finish the rollsroyce off before even attempting to start assembling this project.

Pretty intrigued by this! I'm really curious how it'll turn out.

tbh i've thought about this too but the 100 i have now isn't doing too bad anyway.
do you have experience with the dci mapped?

My 80 was mapped until the engine gave up.

Having said that remapped dci's go really well. 130hp is about the max you'll get out of your 100.

Ive driven Mike from MWM's clio dci a few times and it does go well.

His is a 65 but with the bigger injectors, 80 turbo and 80 intercooler.

He is just about to put a hybrid turbo on it now as well I believe.

Cheers mate, but i live in the Netherlands so not very cost effective to go there...
there are a few tuners here who offer maps but they arejust generic maps and i don't really know if i can thrust them.

Tbh mate, you need a custom map to suite your engine.
Build the car around the engine, then drop the body ontop

this could get expensive... Ill get a few crates of redbull to start us off
Haha deal !
