172 Black FF or 172 Cup?

  PH2 172
After owning a 172 Cup for almost 11 months now iv decided that i fancy a change to the Full Fat 172 version in black. which is what i was going to buy before i brought the cup But i am undecide on what i should do keep the cup or buy a Full fat 172 i love all the lil extras the cup comes with i.e Leather, xenons, aircon, climate. My Cups a 2003 model with 61k the black Full fat i have found is a 51 plate with 43k really good condition and very cheap i think for £3900 so i would have some money to play with anybody got any thoughts on what i should do sell the cup for the black Full fat or keep the cup?

I know i must be mad to want to sell the cup prob just keep it until i can afford a Racing blue 182

I occasionally wonder if I should've gone for a normal 172 instead of the Cup, but the Cup's just have a better presence and stance over the normal 172's.

Cup all the way.

Im the total opposite.. i had a 'minted' 172 cup now ive got an 'ok' 172 and i prefer the 172 with all the toys!!

Thats what i like is all the toys the FF comes with. Did you find it hard to decide on what to do if i did sell the cup and get the FF i would have about 1k to spare

I had most of the toys in my previous ph1 and Golt GTi - I simply don't miss them. Air con would be nice to de-mist on cold mornings, but that is seriously all I'd like.

There was a big debate about using the FF with the 172s and its a no no as it means a 182 with both cup packs i think. My 2002 172 in black might be for sale soon

Yeah i know but the 172 i have seen isnt a FF its just a 172
a normal 172, with xenons etc is a FF 172, you get that & the cup one - nothing else !

What do you think FF is then ??

No such thing as a 172 FF a normal 172 is just that a 172, FF means cup packed.

Its a made up term, so it can be whatever people want it to fella.

Officially theres no such thing as a fullfat full stop.

I know that the FF means all the cup packs thought thats what the 172 came with but it didnt im still not sure if to sell up or not

  53 Clio's & counting
id stick with the cup personally, i mean what extra are you really getting? i know all the differences but in day to day life air con, leather, abs, and thats really it? seems a lil pointless in all that effort to buy what is really not that much a different car.......

Thats i meant i thought the 172 was a FF i fogot to put its only the 182 which is a FF soz bout that lol

FF all the way . i dont really beleive owning a cup would make all that difference on the road compared to a ff . although i could be wrong .

Cups are abit more raw I'd say...imo its not as easy to decide as you may think, I havnt driven both so my opinion may not have much weight however from what people have said, in a cup you are more involved in the drive, no abs etc, i prefer a ff, more comfort etc though cups are p**n when detailed

I've not driven a Ph2 172, but my Cup feels a lot composed and slightly quicker than my Ph1 in everyday driving. Oddly, I'd say the Ph1 felt rawer in normal revs, but the Cup is a whole different beast after 4k.

Ave got a 172 with all the extras but hardly use them, apart from the traction control everything else may aswell not be there, never use the aircon or cruise control, Ad say stick with the cup
