172 Cup Rear Compensator Valve Leaking?....

Hi guys, put my 172 cup in for MOT with vosa doc showing about lack of spring etc.

Got a phone about half way through the day & they told me it has decided to suddenly start leaking due to wear & tear (Yeah right)& cannot continue the test.

Couldn't really inspect it at the road but it was dripping & couldn't drive the car apparently.

Can this thing even leak? or have the garage been being idiots & forcing/prodding what they shouldn't have?..

Not sure what to do now?..

Has anyone else had to replace one of these parts, or is there anything I could with present valve?.

Thanks guys, had a good look at it today.

Seems that the upper bracket which joins the boot to the device has lost its bonding agent but seems quite a poor fixing anyway.

Just gonna try & seal it better & reinforce the join.

Just seems strange that no one else has had this problem with it being a poor fixing.
