In all honesty, purely for road use I'd use standard if not going for the ferodo's. Just make sure fluid etc is good, and braided hoses are worthwhile.

any particular brands recommended? ECP do an Eicher (sp) brand which is around £19 - not sure whether to steer clear as i have never heard of them!

The Pagid are great for stopping cold or hot. They are OE suppliers to many maufacturers and I have them on the VRS.

Got green stuff on the rear, red stuff up front, but it does get used for what it was built for. Green stuff or standard peds mate if you don't push your car

Agreed ^^

Very impressed with my D2500's, had them on since feb this year, hammered them on 2 track days and done about 8000 everyday miles, only 10% worn and they work better than OEM from cold imo. Like others have said if you want to upgrade I'd go for braided lines and decent fluid (Castrol Super dot4 stuff does the trick in mine), standard pads are decent ferodo ones anyway so stick with them is my advice :D

went for ebc ultimax with brembo hc discs, combined with new fluid the brakes are nice and sharp :)

mine is just for road use at the moment. But i like going for 'spirited' drives.
Im using ferodo ds2500 pads on the front with brembo max disks.
K-tec rears with ferodo ds rear pads and hel front and rear braided lines.
Unbelivable bite from them.
