LSD will be transformational. Coupled with a roll centre correction kit 👌🏻Another filthy wet day at Oulton, but ace fun. Did most of the day on the semi slicks which was ace fun, but swapped for the Uniroyals before things got a little too out of control.

Quite thankful for the rain as my brake pads were a bit worn out, time to do a pad and disc swap when I’m next in the garage.hell of a way to end the year, been out a fair few times this year and loving it.
Next “upgrade investment” debate now is if do I save to buy a LSD? Is it worth it? then which one to buy and how to fit it!
A mates golf following me getting a bit sideways.

The turn in will be so much better with that geo-kit on. You’ll wonder how you managed to drive around a circuit without it.Saturday Club at my mates garage to get the Clio ready for another track day. Been accumulating some wee modifications too.

Pro-AM Racing geo correction kit. Awesome looking bit of kit and a doddle to fit. Will take the car to get a quick realignment this week to make sure it’s all where it should be. Only driven it home so can’t really say much.

Still saving up and finding the time to get a LSD fitted, but in the mean time I’ve added a front splitter. If it helps a little to reduce high speed understeer that’s cool- quite like the look of it too. Not difficult to fit, just fiddly. Pretty sturdy though on the car.

Also, fitted new discs and pads, Brembo high carbon front discs. Going to try the PBS Race pads up front and track in the rear. Also mini service, new plugs and oil.
spotted the bushings are starting to wear so will invest in some polybush kit for the rear beam and front arms.
Track day at Oulton Park in a couple weeks on the 15th Feb.
Ds1.1 On the front, Ds2500 on the rear. just be careful if you’re using it on the road though.Visit to see Ben at StringTheory to get the alignment dialled after fitting the Roll Centre kit. Whilst it was there had a new rear beam bushings.
Can highly recommend these guys

Amazing day- short shower, but plenty of dry track time. The new Roll Centre and bump steer kit, plus the alignment really makes the car insane to drive. Turn in is on point. Not sure if the splitter did anything, but maybe?!

first time using PMS brake pads too, Track on the rear and race in the front. They work well, but seem to wear really quickly, used about 50% of the front pads today.
Any suggestions for some better wearing pads?
Presuming that the 1.1 are comparable/newer version of the DS3000. So he likely means, they will be s**t on the road, as they need heat, to work effectively.Exactly what I've got ds1. 11 and Ds2500.
Why be careful on the road though?
Quick story. Ring booked and we’re all meeting at a fuel station at 2am on the A19. I told one of the young lads not to fit his DS1.1 until he got to the ring. He set off from his house at 1am and made a quick fuel stop at the shell garage around the corner. He pulls up and smashes up the arse of a random guys Audi punching a hole in his radiator. He called us to say he’s not coming. I pressed him about it and yes, he’d fitted his racing pads 🙈 They’ll work on the road, but you have to work them if you catch my drift.Exactly what I've got ds1. 11 and Ds2500.

Probably for the best he isn't going if he can't stop with ds1.1111s 😂😂Quick story. Ring booked and we’re all meeting at a fuel station at 2am on the A19. Ds1.11 different compound to 3000. 3000 are like blocks of wood from cold in comparison, however 1.11 work great from cold making them pretty good on the street. Had no issues myself ran them daily for a while in the megane.Presuming that the 1.1 are comparable/newer version of the DS3000. Nope, he’d just stuck them in 😂We're they bedded in properly? I've got no issues whatsoever with ds1.11 on the road.
User error 100% usually sound after a heat cycle from cold.Nope, he’d just stuck them in 😂

I've used Carbon Lorraine CL6 on the front before but found them too severe. Awesome stopping power, but more difficult to control compared to the DS 1.11.yes that what I use to use. Got temped by the PBS track ones as they were cheaper.
Back to the DS. 1.11 it is.
Thank you! Save me an expensive experiment!I've used Carbon Lorraine CL6 on the front before but found them too severe. Awesome stopping power, but more difficult to control compared to the DS 1.11.
Pagid 42s were more Linear but couldn't manage the heat as well so suffered brake fade. I never tried PBS but a mate has in his and he liked them.
You’re welcome although I owe you an apology, my mate, who smacked into the car, confirmed the pads he used were PBS 🙈 So I guess DS 1.11 are safe for the roads.Thank you! Save me an expensive experiment!
Sorry I didn’t pop over either, busy trying to keep my mates BMW going and getting on track as much as possible! You car looks smart.Saw you there yesterday mate I was in the silver clio with fluorescent yellow cage! Had some issues with mine so never got change to come have a chat. Yours looks sweet as!
Spa was brilliant mate highly recommend it! There was so many supercars on track so down the straights I was getting killed was a bit disheartening but then the corners was nice to keep with them or gain on a few. The track though is insane so wide and flowing. We had a great 4 days worth doing for sure!Sorry I didn’t pop over either, busy trying to keep my mates BMW going and getting on track as much as possible! You car looks smart.
See you did Spa? How was that in the Clio?
Oulton Park was the first day I’ve done with it. Felt good. On the road it feels a bit less “crashy” (I only drive to and from track days really).Spa was brilliant mate highly recommend it! How do you find the roll center kit from pro am that’s next on my list, Iv heard good things about it.
Few laps chasing a Clio race car:
I was just really really fast 😂they obviously don’t race it then 😂
I think I made a silly mistake this week at a track evening at Donington Park. I can confirm if you Clio the yellow inner kerbs of the last chicane it will break your French car.
Not sure what the damage is yet, but it revs, goes in gear and no oil was lost. Will have a look with my mate.
Other than that it was mint! Took it pretty chilled as it had been raining all day and heard stories of Donington Parks new tarmac being slippy. But was luck we only had a couple of light showers that evening!
Hopefully back together soon…
my silly fault, but gutted. But lesson learnt!I sold my race car to a lad who managed to break it after a week bouncing off the kerbs there.
