21, 1st year NCB = 55% cheaper insurance!?

Car  Italian 3.2 V6
i have just had a quote of £112 a month by direct line for as soon as i earn my 1st NCB and i will be 21 years old..

my current monthly insurance payment is £250 a month..

has/did any1 have there insurance drop around 55% in this same situation!?

Mine dropped from £1600 to £1000, but for a RS the cheapest is still over £3000. I guess it's all relative though.

We live in or near Manchester, insurance companies hate us. :) If I lived a couple of miles over towards Warrington it would be half the price.

Try greenlight mate. At 21 with 1yrs ncb i paid £957 on my St170/182.

jesus that's expensive. do direct line cover the mods for us young'uns now then?

try brentacre great for me @ 19 and 1ncb, and pretty good this year too.

Jesus, that's a lot of money at that age imo. I'm 21 and have an Integra Type R import insured for £800, only TPFT, but fully comp would only have been just over £1k. My old Mk1 with 2.0 engine, fully declared was only £550 TPFT.

my word thats loads, but get renewal price, my insurance for my 182 when i finally is ready to pick up, is 119 quid a month and I'm 20 with 3 years ncb, and i fort i was getting ripped off

I remember when I was 20 I paid a grand tpft for my 19 16v insurance and that was a scandelous amount to me then :p

Being old at least has one advantage lol

Mines gone down roughly £500 each year

19 = £1500
20 = £1000 (1NCB)
21 = £580 (2NCB)

This isn't on a Clio mind.

nice, i bloody hope so. means i will be able to keep her :) wasnt gona go thru another year of insane insurance paying lol!!

like i said in your other thread mate try your hardest to save up and pay it all off in one go makes the year ahead so much easier thats what i done and went from paying £260 a month to 0 a month for insurance, yeah i was skint for 2 months to save it up but gave me much more money for the other 10! try admiral they are brilliant for young drivers in quick cars me and all my mates are with them including imports

Get a 0% interest credit card for 12 months (Tesco do one) and pay it off that way if you can't get the cash.

yup mine dropped 50%! my insurance ran out a week before i was 21 and i was getting high quotes so i did one for a week later and it was half the price, so i waited it out.

You've got mods so directline won't insure you.

Big drop from 0 to 1 year NCB. Mine was about 50%. Bit of a drop at 21 as well. Bonus.
