2nd hand viper kit

mate at works mate selling his 6month old 172 for a new golf r32, it has 17" rims and a piper viper kit with only a couple of thousand miles use. got the chance to buy it for £150 (will try for less!) should i go for it? are they any good? what sort of power hike? or should i just wait cos i quite fancy the hill power induction kit and group n ecu. how much is the hill power stage 1 kit anyway?

Good price for a second hand one and yes, they do appear to be good. Were going to experiment at a rolling road on Saturday, so will have more details then, but it seems to give a good smooth spread of torque and increased peak power. And you can still have a group N ecu with the Viper...!

I fitted a viper kit in my corsa sri and got a 12 bhp increase. i fitted a k&n in my clio 16v and got at least 10 bhp.

Has anyone tried the ecotec, ive heard good things about them.

My mate has one on his yaris, he says its a very noticable increase in bhp and torque

Nah, but it has an FSE boost valve capable of providing an extra 20 bhp

where can i get one? mate at work had one on his 16v clio and a de cat and said the difference was amazing, really worth the cash. reckoned on an extra 15bhp. said it was a real golf eater. he said not long after the mods some bloke in a 16v golf with magnex and bbs splt rims tried it on at the lights and the clio blew his doors off!! bloke in the golf was well gutted. the end.

Yes...

Got one, tried it myself as I like to try things for myself.

There was little or no performance increase at all (too small to notice if there was) and the fuel economy was exactly the same!

Its now sold!
