3 Figure Cars

It seems now, that consistently Ph1 172's are becoming 3 figure cars.

So whats the best car you think you could buy for sub £1000 (Top Gear style).

After a quick search on ebay I'd say a PH1 Clio is way up there for amount of fun per £, but - unfortunately - for me it would have to be a mk1 mx-5, purely because I'm secretly a raging homo kind of craving a RWD s**t-box project.

I suppose there should be a few rules:
It has to be common place to find one for sub £1000 (not just a CAT C, stolen recovered, etc.)
Road legal and working (no SorRs/SORN)

Basically I could probably spend 20 grand easily and never go over a grand. Loves a bit of shedding!
