5th Gear last night Car washing......lol

B

Brown.

Out of the three automated car wash was 'best' out of DIY pressure washer+ brush, auto car wash and drive in polish/arab/asian hand wash ( that are every where now) lol

The asian dudes where doing so well with there snazzy mits until they pulled out the 'blade' lol

any one use on of these on there cars ???

name and shame imo lol

I've never used the foreign people to wash a car.
The rubber squeegee on the paint was a cringe moment.

They use one of those rubber blades on my car when I take it to b washed. I don't c the problemto b honest?

They keep them in bowls of water.

The local place to me uses one too. Tbh i've never had a problem with them using it. My car has been detailed a while ago, clayed up etc etc, no probs with the paint at all (even before it was touched)

I've used one for the past 10 years . Never had a problem . As long as the car is clean , which obviously it should be if you've washed it right and the blade is kept clean you can't scratch the paintwork . Better than any waffle weave for drying the car and only takes a couple of mins :)

I use a Autoglym one on cars I don't care about! The blade itself wont make marks as long as nothing gets trapped between it. Quick and easy way dry. Not one I use on my GTi though lol. Drying towels may take longer but they are much less risky.

Did not see the programme, shampoo alone probably just stripped a product that was hiding them and they where already there.

this comment says it all rich. i would not use one either.
all it would take is some heavier dust to land and then you pulling it over paintwork.
with the towels ect... arent they designed to minimise the dust on the surface of the towel to stop that?

All depends if your a gambling man lol!

Something gets trapped between that blade and the paint and you will get a nice long mark. Polished so many cars with long sweeping marks in the roofs and bonnets that have been caused by flexi blades.

ha theres gambling and then theres lunacy! to pc a full car, wash it then use that blade on it is asking for trouble in my opinion.
people may see it as an easier, quicker (lazy) option tho compared with
using a couple of towels.

lol very true!!!!

If you sheet the water off with an open hose there is not that much to dry anyway tbh.

blades dont damage the paint ive always used them in the bodyshops ive work at ,just make sure the blades an paintwork is clean an you wont have a problem.

I also work in a bodyshop and if were polishing a car and then wash it to take the crap off it,when it comes back in some of the guys use the blade to take the water off.
its wrong tbh and ive seen it ready to go back to customer outside with some light on it and it has very fine scratches over the freshly polished paint work. they really shouldnt have bothered polishing it imo.

i dont dry it............ ahhhh i let it dry on its own then wipe it over with a quick detail.. dont think my cars been 'properly detailed' since iv had it i got major swirlls going on, any detailers out there that can sort that out holla at me

+1

Autoglym Aquablade FTW

love the car an that mate but did you see what it did to a black car in the vid??? I used to have a black clio and only ever used the blade once, never again!

O...good point mate. I tend to do one wipe then clean with a microfibre, but I think I might stop using that lol... thanks mate!

On another note, anyone notice the picture of vicky...she is looking ruff/terrifying lol

Exactly the same where i work.

When the car is ready to polish after fresh paint is dryed, you spend time wet and drying the s**t out, polishing it with fast cut, med, and final finish, all perfect, then the valeter use's the blade. It makes me cringe so hard.
