A little Jealous

Just took girlfriends bro to look at a cup. Im a little jealous makes mine look like a right shed. It was being sold by a trader who sells audis and mercs etc and didnt know anything about clios. Its a 53 plate iceburg silver cup with c'control and best of all its only done 15K miles it is an absolute minter.
I think the bloke had too much money we asked what he could do with the price and straight away he said he would knock £200 off and give it a 12 month ticket. So for £4800 hes got a rare minter lucky boy. Only prob is it will need belts done soon.

P.S After test driving it im thinking of putting the cat back on mine it seemed to pull a lot cleaner and harder in the standard set-up than mine with de-cat and stainless system wierd, unless its the 30 odd thousand mile difference between the two cars. Forgot how good the little cup is when its completely standard. :(

De-cat will probably lose mid range torque but gain on top end power, so depends what your driving style is like!

Don't forget that every engine is different too, and some will produce more power than others!

Oh dear, only had it three months and already had to replace the exaust, that cost me £392 from Renault
Any idea of the cost and which belts are they?
Thanks

You'll need to replace the cambelt and auxillary (sp?) belt - you can get it bought and fitted and specialists for around £500 if you have climate control, nearer £300 if you've not. Either way, avoid Renault stealers like the plague for this job!

Oh, and it's Iceberg Silver ;)

That 15k miler for under £5k sounds like a reet steal.

could have had yourself a decent aftermarket system that will not rot and fall off in the next 30k or year mate, with a lifetime gaurantee, FITTED by ktec at that price .... speechless

The exhausts are shocking on the renos for sure they only last 40k or so.

As said mate, phone around good independant garages they will cost you alot less than Renault will charge you.

I paid £550 for all the belts and tensioners and a full service aswell.

Shop around mate, garages will be crying out for buisness.

(also once you get a price tell them a garage 5 mile away is doing it £70 cheaper... then vice versa)

Sorry matey, wasn't picking up on your spelling, was letting IOWcup know that's it Iceberg, not Arctic. :)

Sounds like a good deal. doubt a decat would lose power, they are known to add a decent amount of power 5-8bhp and 5-8 lbft maybe that one was a quick one. renaults have erratic power outputs.
