So what I did.

IMG_0134-1.webp

Bought 3 lengths of CDS 40x2 from custom cages, I wanted to add a rear harness bar/brace, main hoop lower support and a mid rear stay for extra support if the harness bar was ever needed ;)

Measured up the tube and profiled the ends, then I ran out of bloody gas! So i tacked the tubes in place with no gas just to hold them *shocking lol.

Few shots of them tacked in, I have no pics of the stays tacked in.

Then about 4 hours later they were all welded in and the rear mid stays had been added! MINT! Also got the door bars welded up!

cool

When I was making mine (fell through, wasnt happy) I cut 2 45 deg angles then filed the 2 points off, worked quite well although only for right angles

Got round to fitting the brake lines, bias valve and secured it all with P clips. Took fooking ages to get them all shaped and secured right! Still need a bolt to secure the valve to the panel. I will be changing to a screw type valve when i get chance as this one will get knocked when getting in and out of the car.

Also removed the carbon canister

Then drilled the hole for the omex relocate to the dash ( need a grommet for it )

IMG_0016.webp

IMG_0017.webp

Removed the interior sound proof (fooking hard work )

IMG_0015.webp

Welded up the bracket for the rad (i had to shift it 10mm to the left and the metal was looking weak)

IMG_0014.webp

Next up was fit the 1.2 heater as i removed the aircon unit! Got it for £9 on ebay BARGIN.

Then I painted the bay and subframe. Got a can of 647 made up at halfords, some acid etch, normal primer, panel wipe, masting tape and lacquer .

Prepped it all and gave it some love.

Before ( it doesnt look to bad in the pic, but it was a rite state!

awersome job with the lines mate. Very nice. Can't wait to see the whole bay done if you're doing everything to that level.

Aye I'm happy with them! Need to leak test them all yet!

Got to get the nibus heat shield on tomorrow and seal up that hole in the fire wall and the bay prep is done!

^ fingers crossed it makes 240.

Its made 218 before the new exhaust, de-cat, cams, headwork (further) and pistons.

GDi did a same spec car and it made 240hp/180lbft so fingers crossed I'll match/beat that ;)
