Adding Spacers and Lowering MK3 Clio

  1.4 Clio Dynamique
Hey, I've noticed a lot of people talking about the cars "Stance". I admit it does give the car a sportier look, and it's something I'm interested in doing to my own car.

But I wanted to know the pros and cons of doing this beyond the obvious cons. Lower car, more chance of hitting the underside etc. I was told that if I added spacers I'd run the risk of hitting my arches. I was looking into low profile tyres too.

If this has already been asked can a mod or someone link me to it.

Thanks

John

Fit coilovers then ride height is adjustable, if you space the wheels then your turning circle will be bigger but you shouldn't really notice it.

All you need to do is measure up under the arch to see how much room you have to space the wheels i would suggest you could probably fit 12.5mm on each side with no problems. so that widens the track bye 25mm altogether.

tyres with a slight stretch will give you much better stance too :)

pro's are better handling, look, stance etc.

cons, sometimes impractical, ride comfort ruined.

When you say the ride would be ruined. To what extreme?

Also where is a good place to buy spacers? eBay?

I'm really not fussed with a slightly larger turning circle, most roads you can do it in two anyway.

All depends on what coilovers you buy i run vmax coilys. mum went in to my car to day and hated it. funny though :) ( i love it )

and err you can buy spacers from pretty much anywhere. but if there ones that go on the hub where you bolt the wheel on you'll need longer wheel bolts you can get them from tpi along with the spacers infact
