Alpine adaptor

HELP!

How much of the dash do I actually have to remove in order to fit my Alpine steering wheel remote thingy?
Ive bought part numbers KWE-845E and KCE-840B and I thought it was gonna be an easy job but OH NO!!

Ive done a search but no-one seems to say exactly how its done. Removing the dash in Haynes manual looks really complicated!
Ive got a 2003 Clio 172 if that makes a difference

dash is easy there is a guide on main page.

someone did it the other week said they didnt have to take the dash off at all, how much were the adapter as well?

Got the adaptor from here, £55.
Its appears to have to be connected behind the display so Im obviously gonna have to get into the disply somehow, so I guess that will involve removing some of the dash!

there should be a wire coming down for the upper dash to plug in to , (well so i have been told)
