Great build thread, just read the whole thing!

Excuse my ignorance, but isn't 70bhp as a transmission loss quite alot?

wow! haven't looked at this thread for a while and suddenly the whole engine is rebuilt :p

all i can say is: great work mate! you really don't hang about with your car, colour looks lovely too!

Depends on how its measured, on some rollers it includes the transmission loss of the rollers as well.

Either way, I bet it goes very well!

Proper graph that, nice one mate :)

Really good torque spread.

Any plans for a few more RPM though just to give you that extra bit of headroom out of the bends, even if the power is dieing off its still useful not to have to change gear I find.

Rev limiter is set to 7200 but we developed a misfire top end due to a coil pack issue, so we aborted mapping and stuck a 6500 rpm limiter untill i can get it sorted, i have sent the ecu back for repair and had had it adjusted to run the OEM renault Coil pack at the 20vt ones are expensive and crap.

The Power is still climing but the torque droping off not by much tho even at 6500 :)

The car is back in bits again, utterly upset and wounded, that my oil pump failed brand new item and it took the whole thing with it.

Awaiting my new SCAT rods, Crank, and Wisco Pistons, Uprated Pump, ARP head Kit and my worked head.

Is it not worth chasing the pump manufacturer to see if a warranty claim/goodwill is possible mate?

Absolutely no chance IME

Mate of mine built a cosworth engine, 10K or so worth, the pump failed, he sent it back to cosworth and they admitted the pump was at fault, even then they only paid out for the value of the pump, not a penny towards the parts or the labour on the rest of the engine.
Most companies have a "maximum warranty claim is strictly the invoice total" clause for stuff like that, ie they will never pay out more than just the value of the item.

As chip said, I got a refund on pump, but that was only cos I went mental with the lads,...

No I've not been to Manchester, was I Bolton a few weeks back.

Well the motor is back in up and running with a few imprivements. Big port head with inlet. New boost pipes. Water meths spray. And some general tidy ups.

Need to get inlet polished but I need to run the car in first I can do that in stages.
