Best in-game side-kick?

Which games have you played where you've really enjoyed the dialogue or actions of an in-game side-kick?

One that springs to mind for me was Alyx in the Half-Life 2 series. Also, Sweetw*ter in the single player campaign on Bad Company 2 - the M60 totting geek. ;)

Recently, probably the lich 'unlock' on Titan Quest. 'It' doesn't say or interact with anything, but it's 'ard as fcuk. Out-numbered 5 to 1? Send in the lich....

I can't think of any stand out ones if I'm honest. Most memorable personalities are in GTA (likes of Brucie etc) games and they're more part of a wider supporting cast than a side-kick. Someone is bound to mention one in a moment that I will have forgotten though.

  Nothing at the mo :(

Titan Quest, m8. I think it's still on Steam (the Gold Edition) for £9.99. If you liked Diablo (or that type of game) then you'll really like this this. Massive replay value in terms of character development and skill trees too. If you bought the Gold Edition - simply start the game with the Immortal Throne as it's the original game with bells and whistles added - rather than a seperate expansion.

I picked it up in the Steam sale for £3.79 a few months back. Probably the best game vs. expense I've ever paid. ;)
