Blanking plate vs bunging the damn hose up.

I've been toying with the idea for a blanking plate for a while, purely just for noise sake.
A few of my buddies have them on their cars and they sound tasty, I helped one guy fit one to his 250 Meg and I liked it but I couldn't help wondering after 45 minutes of screaming, scratched knuckles and dropped bolts that it's would have been so much easier/quicker to just block up the recirculation hose.

It would achieve the same thing with alot less faf, and could be cheaper. I've seen a few bungs that are used for high pressure floating around on some tuning sites.

Any idea if this would actually work? Or would the pressure from a RS250 TD04L turbo be to much for a bung?
