182cup & 172 racecar
I have a 106.
So you do!!! I'd forgotten about mini burp!!I have a 106.
Some fancy independent rear setup from memory. For circuit work there's no real gain other than easier adjustment, but on the loose there's obviously a few. What did the Clio S1600 have on the rear end?
Who the f**k makes a socket with a 25mm flat?? A penis. That's who!For everyone buying the goldplug sump plugs, you will need a 25mm socket which isnt a size that comes with halfords socket sets.

Oh have no fear mate, I'm keeping at it! Jc5's have been halting the progress the past few weeks/months. I'll soon only have 2 in my garage - both of them belong to me! LolHa! I think my entire build has been one thing like this after another!
Keep at it, this is the car on here I'm most looking forward to seeing finished!
Yeah no worries mate. Got the jc5's down to a fine art now. I reckon if I had all the parts there that I'd need to do a full strip down and rebuild it would take me around 2-3 hrs tops. LolGlad to hear it. I'm still tempted to get you to have a look at a JC5 for me though! There's also my MTX75 to consider, so you better hurry up and finish your car so you can get on with those lol.
Ok mate. Sounds like diff bearings or the diff itself. I'm seeing quite a lot come through now with internal diff damage now. This could be where yours has failed and the debris has taken out the bearings.i might have to get in touch with you sooner than later....mine is getting a bit whiney when going round corners.
just did a fluidchange in case it was that.....no such luck.
This has just reminded me, I have a JC5-120 box I sort of acquired when trying to fix my diff last year lol. I've got absolutely no idea what it comes out of, but would it be any use to you for spares? If so I can bring it with me Sunday, otherwise it'll probably get scrapped!Yeah no worries mate. Yeah bring it down mate. I'll pop it open and see if there's anything salvageable in it! You never know your luck! I'll drop you a pm mate. :up:How much do all the new bits cost to rebuild a JC5130? I'm sick of mine whining and crunching 😧

I wouldn't class myself as a guru mate! Lol! I do however, get enjoyment from stripping and rebuilding gearboxes. It's a curse mate!Lol the curse of being the forum gearbox guru mate  !!!
All the cool little bits and attention to detail add up to being a really impressive build mate, look forward to seeing it finished
Dave
look forward to seeing it finished. As does the wife. Lol
How's the pms shifter? Rattle boiled your piss yet?
It's that rattle that kills it for me tbh mate.Ha, it's fine as long as you're not at a steady speed using a constant revs between 1000-7000rpm,
it does vibrate a lot, but I just like pretending I'm John Cleland in 90's Cavalier touring car:up:
You know that PMS sorted/reduced it by the addition of a weight near the gearbox endIt's that rattle that kills it for me tbh mate.
Yeah and charge you for the liberty of the fix. Lol! f**k that. Also, @MarkX still had the rattle I believe after he'd fitted it! LolYou know that PMS sorted/reduced it by the addition of a weight near the gearbox end
Yeah, I had that conversation with them too when they were investigating it. I'm not paying for a fix and also adding weight to the vehicle. Tbh, mines only for track/events so I'm happy with the benefits of the product as it stands, I can appreciate this being annoying for daily users though. It also felt wrong adding a 1kg weight to the linkage of a track car! I still have it if you want to give it a try
Well it's certainly a unique sight in a mk2 engine bay!Elite is all i can think everytime i see that airbox
Lol! It looks like atf, smells like gear oil. :down:That's not gearbox oil, it's jelly!
Well it's certainly a unique sight in a mk2 engine bay!
Nothing else to see other than broken jc5's! Lolyou need to stop cropping the photos so we cant see it all in its glory..theres a lot thats elite in that engine bay TBH
