CD changer cable help before I go mad

OK so I need a replacment cable for my cd changer (an alpine one from a mk 2 172).

Renault want £86.18 for it (item number 8200 085591 BTW) and no Halfords that Ive been to today can get replacment as they saty there Renault only. They recomend trying autoleads but autoleads say Halford sell there parts.

Its driving me mad now can someone please tell me where to go Ive visited all three loacal Renault garages, 2 Halfords stores and a few audio specialists today and only 2 of the Renault dealerhsips admit they sell the part.

Surly I can get a replacement cable for less than £86 if not Im selling the cd changer its not worth it.

Renault only m8, the connectors are specific to renault.

I got a Sony 10 disc changer recently for 90 quid! What a rip off for the cable.

Worse thing is Ive yet to find any cheaper one and Ive been looking hard someone PM about a cheaper supplier but Ive not heard from them.

No way Im paying £90 for a cable.

I might give the yards a ring but Im not holding up much luck. If I wasnt such an honest person Id take one from a 172 if/when I take one for a test drive.

Ever tried getting that f*ing cable out of a clio? Its wound around and around a metal bar under the dash, and wrapped in sticky stuff so it doesnt just pull out... PITA!

Worth trying e-bay too, there is always a lot of renault stuff for sale including the cables.
