Hi James, It's me from PoT.

So Plans Are:

Colour Code Upper Grille - Why is it blue looking?
Different Steering Wheel (smaller) Any Suggestions? No, leave it.
Lamin-X HeadLights & Fogs (maybe) - No
Coilovers - Yes
Wheels - Yes
Decat + KTR Ultra Performance Exhaust - No. Get a BTB instead, leave the cat. they aren't bad on the 182s.
Induction Kit - don't bother.

You have both cup packs.

HTH.

  '03 MCS, MKV Ed30
Alright Si. Take it youve posted on PoT too?

Not sure why the grille looks so blue, but ill be doing it satin black probs.

Whats a BTB exhaust?

  '03 MCS, MKV Ed30
Cheers Jack.

Yea that exhaust is far too expensive for a daily N/A car.

Ill be going for something a fair bit cheaper.

Well first day of ownership today.

Swopped indicators over, took ELF and Dealership sticker off, Cliosport sticker on.

Washed it.

Smashed into a pothole and need a new front tyre already.

Been told i need to check about Dephaser pully too cos it sounds like a diesel on tick over but its fine when revs are on.

FML already :dead:

  AUDI A5 s-sline
Gutted about the tyre mate! Bloody pot holes :(. They are driving me mad! :(.
Great car though! :). Looks a great buy! :).

  '03 MCS, MKV Ed30
Thanks mate.

Got a brand new budget tyre fitted for £40 today so its all good, it'll do for now.

Need to sort out looking at my exhaust cos sounds abit blowy.

Also no record of belts done in history... and sounds abit diesel like ticking over, which is dephaser pulley i believe?

  Trophy #387
Budget tyres will be the end of you! Watch out mate... :( Unlucky on busting a wheel though, i've hit some potholes and even some speedbumps pretty hard and not done the suspension or tyres yet so i'm happy!

Car is looking sweet, very tidy :)

  '03 MCS, MKV Ed30
Imma leave the wheel cos it looks fine to me, and doesnt feel buckled at all so think the guy was chattin s**t tbh.

The budget is to tie me over for a few days cos work is busy as ever and need to get there everyday, getting some more Proxes T1-Rs fitted this week and ill keep the budget as a spare...

I need to get a meet soon to check out some different exhausts so i know which to go for as mine needs replacing.

Good buy m8 I think sometimes the grills do go a bit funny coloured but yours is bluey colour :S maybe it's been changed from the normal?
As for parts I wouldn't bother with steering wheel I though the same when I got mine but it means u have to move the doodars off the wheel and re-wire them somewhere if u want to keep them or else u should have just bought a cup and not bothered with the extras :S
Wheels arent a bad thing to change but prob not needed unless u do major track time
Exhaust wise k-tec seem to be best priced because I was gonna go for yozza or BTB but prices put me well of them when k-tec do milltek and janspeed and there own ultra in sports and super sports for around the 400 quid mark :) and plus decat on your daily may get annoying but it depends how hardcore u want it? Im goin for a decat janspeed super sports system just because i want hardcore weekend fun after drivin a big soft van all week lol

And also can u post a pic of your lights on at night please so I can see the diff I'm tryin to make my mind up whether to bother or not lol

who you taking the car to get the belts done by mate? and what are they charging?

£299 from a local garage ive taken every other car to since i started driving.

Another garage a friend uses quoted me £350 Max so not too different really.

Ill post a pic up next week sometime Dan, i need to check my headlight washers so gonna have bumper and lights out at same time to swop bulbs and sidelights.

If the bulbs dont suit, ill be swopping them back. But they should be alright cos thats what i had in the last car i had with projector xenons.

ALSO,

Sorted exhaust hangers as one side dropped after i booted it home before. Sorted the exhaust heat shield issue too after looking at the guides section. (Thanks to whos ever thread it was :))

In all honesty mate, take it to a specialist. £350 is too cheap, plus they won't have the correct locking tools for the job (MUST BE USED). Not worth the risk. Book in at Birchdown in Cheshire (closest specialist) and they'll be bang on.

TBH the price is the average for anything else that needs doing cambelt wise on other cars and i trust the garage to do a decent job.

If it isnt done properly, they can do it again for no charge.

Anyways, here are some pictures after it was polished with Autoglym SRP and dressed with tyre shine.

Looks spot on m8 :)

Also birchdown are awesome when it comes to the clios it's where mines goin in for belts soon enough :)

I love the way you say if it goes wrong they will sort it, but if they dont have the locking tools, the timing will be out, and potentially the engine will break! Plus could you prove it was that and would they foot the bill. If the head/valves get fooked as a result it's not a cheap fix. Your car though mate, personally I wouldn't take the risk

Birchdown get my vote every time they are awesome.
Car looks great though mate black gold is a nightmare to keep that clean, but looks great when it is :)

Why the the garage do the job on the car if they dont have the right tools or knowledge?

Thats just throwing there self into unwanted s**t and problem? :S

The past 4 cars ive owned have always been taken there, and theyve all been fine. We will see eh.

ANYWAY

Any of the Specialists will tell you the Correct tools MUST be used to stand a chance of being timed up correctly!

I know it sounds like we're banging on about it. but it could save you a few £££'s being done correctly the first time, rather than having to go to a specialist second time.

Cars looking very nice, wish i could have a sport....
What system you looking at getting?

Thanks mate.

Looking for a system cat-back that has slash cut pipes. the RS192 Scorpion is alright but id rather have non-rolled tips.

  Evo 5 RS
Also whether they'll do it 'right' aside, I'd get the dephaser done....it might sound alright now... imagine 3 months down the line when it starts rattling it's tits off. New belts! You'll feel like a pratt then

How come only Renault Specialists can have the correct locking tools?

Oh wait, maybe it's because you think its too cheap cause you always choose to pay more for a 'specialist'. What exactly needs to be specialist to change cambelt?

It's only a clio with a bigger engine in it, so it just takes more time, and as for the locking tools, any decent garage will have a full set for most makes anyway. The workshop we use just buys the tools if they need them and keeps them for future jobs.

If i had the tools and time i'd do it myself for beer tokens as i told James. Just nuts n bolts at end of day...

Typical CS attitude shown there that i remember from past years. Well done i say, and agree about dephaser.

Click on my hyperlink earlier in this thread. And from personal experience you will be suprised about just what garages do.
I am not saying you have to have it done at a specialist, each to their own, however I know where mine car goes.

CJGreen, your clio looks in tip top condition, hope it all goes well and you get the RS192 zorst. I don't think anyone is having ago at you about taking your car to where you are taking it, they just want you to know, as this sort of thing has happened so many times in the past.

I didn't say only specialists had the correct tools, but its pretty unlikely that a back street garage will have them and will more than likely adopt the tippex aproach.

All I'm trying to do is offer friendly advice, personally couldn't give a s**t where he takes it.
