Clio 172 Cup

Time to strip the rears down and see what’s going on.

Always has me second guessing when a garage I haven’t used does something on a car.

Not good is it.

Either they haven't been torqued correctly or the spacers missing. Probably both.

I nipped the camber bolts up with buzz gun but didn’t tighten by hand afterwards. They weren't tight enough so moving around.
This car had new rear discs fitted a few months ago by a random garage. If they haven’t fitted the spacers behind discs, would this create noticeable movement in the hub that would cause alignment to be out?

Well no spacer fitted to the side with wheel wobble.

Surprisingly when nipped back up with spacer it rotates nice and clean. Will change anyhow as it’s going to f**k itself it some point.

Otherside had spacer but fitted the wrong way around. Joy of joys.

If the bearing feels fine and goes together alright just send it Andony

I mean what's the worst that can happen, you get a wheel bearing noise in a few thousand miles (if you still have the car by that point)

Fair

Clearly trying to clock his car but has got it the wrong way. You are supposed to take miles off it durrr.

Anyone know if the lower poweflex polys in dog bone mount can wear out?

Mine was done back in 2010. I have the knocking under hard acceleration in 1st due to engine movement. Upper engine mount is new. Ordered gearbox mount also.

Yes, they can split. I'd first check the nut on the engine mount hasn't loosened as this is common.

I’ll check later, only fitted it last week so would be surprised. I’ll check dog bone mount at the weekend if that’s the case.

Check the washer has been fitted on the bolt too

The one that gets up into the gearbox. If it hasn't got a big washer then it can f**k the bushing

I remember that from before. I’ll double check when i swap it out at weekend.
