Cracked on tonight, removed the cambelt and pulley, fit new cam seals and boshed on the water pump.

Water pump mounting face took a while to clean up.

Surprisingly nothing is knackered considering the belts were last changed in 2013 about 40k ago. Cambelt idler was very slightly rough and the aux belt has a few cracks but that was it.

I love how discreet the black battery looks in the bay of the black PH1s. Looks like this is going to be spanking for the summer ahead!

Dephaser pulley

Air filter
Spark plugs
Oil filter

Really enjoyed the thread. I bought a PH2 172 last summer and have gradually been getting it back to a decent state.
Have to say the ph1 in black does look really smart.

Thought I might as well do a gearbox oil change.

Will refill with RENAULT trans elf NFJ tomorrow :)

Just to make you all aware elf oils have now been discontinued NFJ is no longer available from Renault. Luckily we have a fair few in stock at work.

Wheel looks great. 😍

My Snappy wheel is still as mint now 9 years on as it was when it was done.

Can’t help but think those headlight/foglight bulbs are crying out for renewing with something a little whiter, they look like candles. 😅
Car looks mega though dude, great job.

The wheel looks fantastic!! I'm pleased that you kept it OE looking and didn't go for a coloured band at the top like so many do.

I've got a spare re-trimmed steering wheel (one of many for the Vee) and it's identical to that one, I'm wondering now if it's one he did a long time ago.

Headlight wise, get Osram Nightbreaker bulbs (y)

Finally got around to fitting the new front cup shocks today, along with new top mounts, spacers, dust covers, 4x eibach sportlines (wrapped in black, didn’t want red springs)

Cleaned and painted a few things etc.

Located an under tray complete with oil drain cover.

i’ll get some decent pics when i tax it in April.

Old shocker,
