Clio 182 Trophy Spring Detail (first time rotary)

Spring is here, time to get rid of the swirls from the harsh winter.
I’ve used a DAS-6 a few times and achieved reasonable results but now I’ve decided to upgrade to rotary in the form of a cheap and cheerful Silverline.

Due to time restrictions and it being my first time I’m only aiming for about 80% correction (I use it every day anyway).

Apologies for the amateur camera work. Its an ancient point and shoot which keeps flicking itself to video so I just take the shot whenever it decides to work!

I knew I wasn’t going to get the whole car polished in a day, so I decided to lay down some protection as I finished each area.
Following polish each panel was wiped down with IPA/distilled water 50:50 solution and treated with Werkstat Prime Strong by DA on a soft pad.

Day 3:
The car was soaking from the misty weather. Doused with water and dried off.

The first coat of Jetseal from yesterday is doing the trick:

I then realised the zip on my trackies had been rubbing on the door. Back to square one!

I had hoped to get some arty shots but the location I was going to use has since been gated off. So out of ideas and out of light I headed home.

Very happy with the results.
Thanks for reading, comment welcome :)

Loving the end sticker! Except not many people will understand it!

re dropping the clay, here's a quick tip; put old but clean towels down under where you are claying. That way, if you drop the clay, you can carry on :)

Other than that, great results!

Great results mate, such a great colour when properly cleaned.

I really want/need mine to be PC'd!

Nice detail there mate, as said its a fantastic colour once machine polished/brought up to a high standard...still one of the best cars i have detailed.

  RB One Eight Two
That is stunning! I have decided, I'm getting a Trophy next.

Can you come and do mine, it needs a machine polish desperately!

I'd say correction comes easier with the rotary so in that sense, yes.
However compared to DA the rotary tends to go where the hell it wants sometimes and you just have to go with it... so less controlled than the DA. Thats why I used the DA to apply some of the products.

It's looking good mate, red cars are awesome! Trophy's are very awesome.

I find with my car and Red's that they aren't the most reflective colours.

I thought my blue would have been good but they aren't great, needs to be a darker blue for reflections to work I think.

One of mine...

Maybe it was my crap camera making them a little hazy. I'll try again with the new one.

Wow stunning... I love my detailing and I'm swapping the das 6 for a rotary as I keep getting asked to do modern stuff after people have seen my beetle and I just dont think it's up to some of the hard modern finishes. Top work red always looks stunning but that is exceptional! just what a trophy deserves

I've seen a lit more hard than soft. Clios were 95% hard imo.

  Lotus Elise
looks brilliant you've done a great job. Reading this made me feel so guilty about the lack of polish mine sees.

Cheers guys.

I'm in the process of buying a house with an oversize garage, so I'm predicting the winter protection detail to reach new heights of OCD and back pain.
....and I can't wait.
