Spring is here, time to get rid of the swirls from the harsh winter.
I’ve used a DAS-6 a few times and achieved reasonable results but now I’ve decided to upgrade to rotary in the form of a cheap and cheerful Silverline.
Due to time restrictions and it being my first time I’m only aiming for about 80% correction (I use it every day anyway).
Apologies for the amateur camera work. Its an ancient point and shoot which keeps flicking itself to video so I just take the shot whenever it decides to work!
A few before shots:
I found some AG wheel cleaner in the cupboard. Probably stronger than my usual bilberry solution..
Iron-X’d.. so THAT’S what that brown stain was!
Arches given a quick scrub
~
Wheels given a layer of Jetseal.
Car jet washed and foamed with PH neutral foam, shuts, trim and details agitated with a soft brush
Dodo SN still holding up after winter
Washed using TBM (grit guard in the rinse bucket), with Dodo BTBM and a sheepskin mitt.
Tar removed and Iron-x’d
Time for clay (and a beer)
Sonus green clay, Dodo born slippy lube and a mug of hot water
Pretty clean..
found some!
Ooops! In the bin it went
Washed again with BTBM and sheeted off with an open hose.
Clean. That'll do for today!
Day 2
I was of course greeted with this..
Various before/after shots
Menzerna PO 85 RE 5 on an orange polishing pad, followed by ( I can’t remember the name, menzerna something) on a finishing pad.
I knew I wasn’t going to get the whole car polished in a day, so I decided to lay down some protection as I finished each area.
Following polish each panel was wiped down with IPA/distilled water 50:50 solution and treated with Werkstat Prime Strong by DA on a soft pad.
Jetseal 109
Day 3:
The car was soaking from the misty weather. Doused with water and dried off.
The first coat of Jetseal from yesterday is doing the trick:
Various before/after shots
I then realised the zip on my trackies had been rubbing on the door. Back to square one!
After 2-3 coats of Jetseal I applied 2x Coats of Dodo Supernatural (an hour or so apart)
I had hoped to get some arty shots but the location I was going to use has since been gated off. So out of ideas and out of light I headed home.
Very happy with the results.
Thanks for reading, comment welcome
