clio sport 182 auxillary belt change(alternator belt)

hi there....can anyone tell me whats the going rate.. for for auxiliary belt (known as the AUX belt)also known as( alternaor belt) being changed... ive just been quoted for £300 ...this is for a clio sport 182 ,its a 05 plate and would i be right in saying this is to be change between 36k and 40k....the car has 45k on it now....

Where you based? Should have been done at 36k yes. £300 is to much IMO.

£300 including a full service is right, not £300 JUST for the belt!

no...£300 thats just for auxillary belt change(alternator belt)...48k service is another £200.. would i be right in saying that you have to take the front bumper off to do the auxillary belt change...? no its just not the belt, i think they fit a belt tensioner on to

yep, you should be paying £300 for a 36k service (so oil, filters etc) including the aux belt swap

£300 for just the belt swap is way over the top

Yozzasport did mine for around 300, and mine was a b*****d, took hours!

well i had a 172 sport 3 years ago and the alternator belt went at 40k..it made an (knocking banging sound)...oooch id dont supposed theres anyone from the northeast area newcastle,sunderland ,way had this done cheaper than what ive been quoted...

specialist breakers in Accrington are the only people i know in the north, they can do it and are excellent

I had mine aux belt dont last week.the garage told me the kit was £107 and think they only charged me around £190

My Aux belt was £200 belt change only at Renault Steelers, service had been done by previous owner.

so theres some very interesting price difference here....i just rememberd that i bought a alternator belt tensioner last yeah,bought if off i guy on ebay....hope its the right one....could save myself £100 here...

You can do it both ways Renault recomend taking it and the light off.
