I don't know of many AS reps that are liked, most of them are f**king bellends. Mine is Lovely though, proper good human being.

He's just one of those lads that you know you meet and know you just cba to have a conversation with, that's him. His dad on the other hand is ace. Apple was missed when fallen from the tree. Obviously asking about this he is my best friend and by far the greatest rep to have reprsented auto smart, ever.

Had a detailing day on my mate's white clio 200 on sunday. It was pretty swirly and a few deeper marks, managed to get it 90-95% there and improve the gloss significantly.

A couple of shots of the finished product below using Hexlogic green & orange pads with Menzerna PO203S. Plastics treated with Dlux and topped with Reload 2015.

Sorry the images are a bit naff, ran out of time to take decent ones & white isn't easy...

Have to say, Reload and white paint is a great combo!

@Daniel

What was the odour bomb you mentioned a while back? Only ask as my girlfriend has just let rip on the couch. I jest, her brother needs one for a customers car

The paint on my Volvo is in an absolute state, heres a quick 50:50 using a black hex logic with Megs 205 finishing polish (applied with a DAS6). I noticed my pad started to go a little red so I stopped. Could this be previous crappy Turtle Wax Red polish stuff that could of been applied before I bought it or will it be the paint? As you can tell after a couple of passes with the 205 it made a little difference but it is still really swirled.

Some red paints seem to almost tarnish and form a dull red layer - I remember this happening in particular to old Vauxhall models which ended up looking almost pink! I polished them and seemed to be fine although like you say, the pad turns red! I never thought to inquire actually what it was, this just reminded me!

Single stage paint, no lacquer.
The surface of the paint oxidises and appears pink

I read online that the Passion Red paint applied to the newer Volvos isn't single stage and has lacquer so I'm surprised that I managed to taint my pad using a ultra fine polish and a DA.

A friend in scotland wants his new A3 detailed, what reputable detailers are in or around Glasgow?

@gally ?

I could only personally recommend defined details. Gordon is imo the best of the best in central Scotland, and by such a long way, whether your mate wants to wait time wise is dependent probably.

Tell him to mention me to Gordon when chatting.

He says he used to use him, but he isn't returning emails/calls etc so he's looking for an alternative

Fair. He is a silly busy man. He'll do 24 hour shifts sometimes at work.

Cleaning microfibre cloths and drying towels etc, is it still a case of throwing them in the washing machine with some non bio detergent and no fabric conditioner on a cool wash?

What do you want from it?

I use Trafalgar's T-sheen. Leaves a subtle finish or a super shiny one depending on how you apply it/what you prefer.
Rebels dust, easy to use. It's brilliant.

Thanks Dan.

I just find that unless I spray it on it doesn't give a very good finish when using a cloth.
If I do spray it on to a door panel it goes places I don't want it, like on the door rubbers but you get the over spray from it which looks crap.

However, if you do spray it on and leave it to dry then it gives a very good finish that seems to last quite a while.

I guess what I'm after is a product that works better if applied by a cloth, sometimes I just want to wipe a dash top over and not have to do everything.

I have one cloth that's soaked in it. I just spray 3 or 4 squirts over the area and then wipe the whole panel.

I'd offer to send you a sample but I don't think it would last the journey. Parcel kicking Postman c***s.

Thanks for the kind offer mate. [emoji2]

I'll buy some of that stuff you said about and give it a go. [emoji106] [emoji2]

I have my old bosses Porsche Panamera hybrid to do next weekend, just didn't want to go covering everything in Dressle after cleaning the leather etc...

Best tyre restorer? I've got something in a bottle that I paint on with a brush and it's awesome but no idea what it's called as it's years old. I've got Megs Endurance but it doesn't seem to last very long.

Megs endurance thick gel or spray?
The gel lasts pretty well tbh but the tyre needs to be clean and dry before application.

Ordered some Obsession Wax Blizzard Snow Foam as I had heard it was quite an economical snow foam.

I was less than optimistic in this hard water area that only 25ml in the lance would produce a decent foam, but I was completely wrong! It came out really thick but not too clingy and helped loosen up a fair amount of dirt. For only £14.95 a litre the cost per wash is pretty decent -

Can someone recommend me some products for cleaning leather? Mainly just for keeping it clean as it's all in good condition just now. When I bought my car the leather was all very matte looking but even after a couple of weeks the seat base is starting to go shiny.

Also on the subject of shiny leather, my brothers steering wheel in his BMW looks like this:

But I just got a courtesy car with the same steering wheel, yet it's like this:

Is that beyond repair or is it somehow possible to get rid of that shiny look and get it back to how it should be in the second pic?
