digital tacho / shift light location

Has anyone fitted one in their car? Im trying to figure out where is the best place to mount the tacho unit (spa unit). Either dash top to right of binnacle or directly on the stalk base/steering column.

I guess you mean a replacement rev counter? Is the original one shagged?

My bad. Its a digital rev counter from s.p.a. it comes with a 3 stage shift light. Its for my track car. The shift light is seperate. Im going to fit that to the inside top of the dash binnacle surround but im not sure on the best place for the digi counter...
