Ive got an S1M and a G220, but I find the S1M a little big especially when working vertical pannels like doors. Thats just me. Is the EP800 managable in this respect? Really in 2 minds on this as its an expensive purchase along side another expensive purchase I need to make.

Do I Invest in an EP800?

Not used the sim or many others in fairness but recently used a flex and festool and my EP800 felt quite unbalanced in comparision, but nowhere near as bad as a DA. It's not a bad machine to use and felt fine on vertical panels
One thing I don't like is the on /off switch and speed dial position. I didn't think I'd worry about it coming from a DA but the trigger and thumb wheel is much nicer.

I know what Dave is saying but in comparison to what's available in the price range it's a fantastic machine. When you then look at Millwaukee and Festool ect those are 2 immense machines. The Millwaukee is actually a chicago in different overalls.
I still think the Millwaukee is the best value for money correction rotary out there, the 3M machine is sometimes a little too light imo.
The reason I love the Ep so much is the size. It feels like a DA without the drawbacks. You can go from serious correction to glazing on the lowest speed in the swap of a pad. If you're not glazing then you should be.
It really does blur the lines between rotary and DA. It's much much better than the Silverline/Sim. They are so heavy and bulky that I don't know how anyone manages to do full corrections with then except Forearms.
Before CSS me and a couple of detailing mates corrected my car about 95% full wet sanded front end and all 3 of us prefered using the EP on my car (Small car/lots of curves) We had a Millwaukee, 3M machine, DA+ and my EP. I never put the EP down all day apart from testing the others.
I'm not going to lie it's not perfect, it takes getting used to and the layout on a normal rotary is a million times better but for what it is and for that price there's no competition imo. I'm hoping there will be a version 2 soon actually with better controls.

The vibration through the machine, my DA is quite bad for this. The EP does this but not as bad. it feels like it wants to direct the machine more almost like it's figthing you a little and wants to take its own course. The flex and festool on the same panel, using the same pad and comound ran considerable smoother, light to change direction and no fight or effort.
But correction levels achieved were equal being that smaller to hold was a bonus.

I partially failed with C4, applied it to new mud flaps and grille. I don't think I buffed the residue off properly on the grill so left a white hazy effect that looked like it could be peeled off. stripped it of and re-applied and it's been spot on. next to do is the arch liners.

I did found I applied quite a bit as I could't see where I had already done, it dried so quickly and didn't make a difference to the finish as it was new plastics. Didn't habe the trouble with C5. Good job I haven't tried C1 yet.
On a side note, brake and clutch cleaner removed it with ease, better than strong IPA and panel wipe.
