Bird droppings are acidic, not basic...

I was always under the impression that due to:

NH3 + H2O <-> NH4+ + OH-

this creates Ammonia ions, which are circa pH7-9. However, due to the birds actually producing Uric Acid, unlike Urea from humans.

Oh and I learnt a new term; "necroposting" - definition of bumping an old thread. T'will be used.

Thanks, when I am working my balls off trying to get bird etchings out of my faded paintwork, I always wander what PH it is.

Use t-cut and a brillo pad.

Not too much pressure though! :eek:

I have a mark on my roof where I think bird crap hasnt been removed from whoever owned it previously, after about 15 polishes it still hasnt come out. seems to be on there for good, must have baked on there in sunlight.
