Excessive engine movement - clio sport mk2

  Clio 172 MK2
Hi,
Need some experts advice here please..
Ever since i've replaced my engine mounts with ktec standard mounts (not the ktr), the engine keeps on banging back and forth whenever i rev or leave the gas pedal.
The dogbone & the right upper mount are new and original reanult's.
At the garage they told me it must be the ktec one's cause they are too soft, but the banging is so hard, i find it hard to believe its all cause of those two mounts (the upper left one under the batt' and the lower rubber one).
Any ideas?
btw, i've already checked the aluminium mount (under the battery), everything there is in place, including the rect' mount which connects to the upper enging mount...
In short.. please help...

I very much doubt that the mounts are too soft, I assume your fitter has made a error mate, are you are the mounts are fitted correctly?

Check that the bolt that goes up through the middle of the gearbox mount under the battery hasn't sheared in two.Happened to me yesterday and engine rocked back and forth easily.Cheers Shaun.

The bolt under the battery is ok, have already checked it...
The engine aint exactly banging, its just rocking back and forth whenever i rev or leave the gas pedal, more like a rocking chair :). i know the original mounts aint as stiff as the ktr ones, but it got worsen eversince i've replaced two of them with the standard ktec mounts (the one under the battery and the rubber one beneath the engine)..
maybe the mechanics at the garage are correct, maybe the standard ktec mounts are too soft? anyone here tried them before?

There wont be anything wrong with the new k-tec mounts i can assure you! The garage are talking crap. It will be whoever fitted them which has caused the problem. Take it to a different garage if needs be. or slacken off all the bolts and pull the engine forward whilst tightening them back up again. Make sure they are all fitted correctly and tightened properly.

Reading another post on here, the way you need to set these are by just hanging the engine on them both with rear dog removed, once you swing the engone tighten them all up and then re attach the rear dog :)

Well, its been a while since my last post here, but i took the time to do some tests..
Did everything possible, took all your advices, nothing helps..
Now the mechanics at the garage have a new "idea", they say it must be an exhaust issue, saying it must be blocked (cat' problem?).
I must say, logically i would say it might be it, but throwing a couple of hundreds on a new cat seems a bit too much, just to see if thats my problem...

Just wanted to thank you alll, pulling the engine to its max forward position did the job.
Thank you !

Hi,
I was just wondering what method you used for pulling it forward? I have quite a bit of movement on fairly new mounts and would like to try this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Loosen the mounts and get some one to pull on the engine while u do the bolts up. Or lever it just beside the brake fluid at the back to pull engine forward
