Exhaust fitting paste

I'm getting some exhaust gas escaping from the sleeved joints on my milltek system. I'm going to buy some new mikalor clamps from milltek and then apply some exhaust paste.

Just wasn't sure if there was something better people would recommend? It's now blowing much, but it's definitely leaking. There was nothing used on the joints during initial fitment.

Yeah nightmare! Doesnt blow anywhere else just these sleeved sections.

Should have had the whole lot vbanded

Don’t use paste mate.

Use RTV sealant.

That's what I used before mate, i know to avoid the rock hard pastes like that putty. Just after specific brands people have used really that's decent stuff.

Loctite 5910 or 5900 RTV. High temp and remains flexible.

I used silicon on the front swivel joint (standard cat) and its been spot on - no leaks at all.

Did quite a bit of googling at the time and this stuff got lots of very good reviews, must be decent as the temperature will be pretty high at the cat

It was the highest temp stuff with good reviews that I could find. Does 150degs more than 5900. Loctite 5990 which you can buy from halfords is 350deg C.

However if its a slip joint, further back from the cat I would likely use 5900.

I use copper filled silicon too, apart from in front of cats/lambdas (it poisons them)

From what I know its fine when cured and on the outside of the joint.
