This happened to my Dad's Clio on his way to work the other night :dapprove:
Thankfully he's ok which is the main concern.

On his daily commute to the hospital where he works;
came off the M1 on the slipway for the M12 and came to the roundabout.
Went to go right towards Craigavon at no more than 30mph, then the car went into a spin and bolted for the crash barrier nose-first

No airbags deployed and the car is still drivable as it is!
Not too bad for 95k and counting!

Makes you think though, you NEVER know when this could happen, even with cautious drivers :nono:

I didn't think clios ever crashed when they have ABS fitted, strange! :quiet:

same thing happened to my mates car last week, slid on a roundabout at around the same speed, we ended up rolling the car though as it slid and hit the kerb then dug into a dirt mount and went on its roof.

I'm sorry but I have say, if your dad is a cautious driver, how did he manage to spin out and hit a barrier at 30 mph?

This is what I would describe it as. Jeees, if I had a donkey here, it's hind legs would have fallen off ;)

lol I just mean to say either there was a serious mechanical failure, or the dad in question wasn't driving so cautiously!

It was an "accident" did you think he planned to spin the car or something? :S

His car "gets him from A to B that's it - he has no interest in anything else so I guess drifting around a roundabout on the daily commute to work in a diesel Clio is out of the question :rasp:

Almost 3 weeks of hot/dry weather here then a wet spell = very greasy roads
Just unfortunate to hit a greasy spot and had no control on this occasion.

my car fishtailed at 25 round a left hand bend and i had very legal tyres ! needless to say im changing to decent tyres as soon as they can be afforded, Until then its driving like a granny time.

Could be oil on the road or anything. There's a million reasons y it happened! I'm Pretty sure his dad didn't suddenly say to himself I wonder what would happen if I drove headon into the wee barrier over there!

Theres some numpties on this forum... No "I hope your dads ok mate" etc. Just the car must be faulty or your dad was driving round like a boy racer.

Hope everythings ok tigger...

Yeah everything is ok thanks, he went on to work as if nothing happened - a bit shaken but all was fine :)
