FAO 1.4RT Owners - 15s & Lowering!

My brothers g/f has a K reg 1.4RT, and Im selling my valver alloys to him next week. Theyve got 195/50 tyres on.

He wants to lower it, but by how much?

Just looked on K-Tecs site and they do -35mm and a -55mm springs.

Lower the better really, but will the -55mm springs give loads of rubbing, and will it be a problem running standard shocks?

Thanks for any help.

Im fitting 55mm KTR springs to my RT next weekend, running 15x195x45 and gonna drop back 60mm. Ill let you know how it went if ya want!

I had a 93 RT with 16s and 205/40/16 Kumho tyres. It was lowered 40mm on Apex springs with torsion bar to match. Had three in the back and never scrubbed.

Hope this is of help.

i;ve got 195x50x15 on the front of mine. they rubbed when the tyres were brand new and on full lock, but not very much.

I have 185x55s on the back and the back right rubbed when loaded as the arch is shaped differently to allow for the plastic tube of cables behind the guard. Take a look, youll see what i mean.
