Fibre glass door in regards to mot

I’ve been stripping out my daily (1.2 mk2) and trying to get the mpg up for a while now. I’ve been considering grp doors, bonnet and tailgate but I’m a bit concerned about the mot verdict.
The mot test manual has no reference to fibreglass, or any specific materials but I can almist here the nanny state fail reasons.

Has anyone had any firsthand experience of getting a track car tested?

I wouldnt fit fg doors without a cage, also wouldnt want to daily with them .
On my old track car they flexed open at the A pillar above 90 to the point you could see daylight.
 
You'll be completely deaf in about three weeks if you have any higher speed sections of your commute in a stripped out car with zero sound deadening and/or FG doors/boot... lol

If I get an answer to the question

I had a tracked clio with the pillars reinforced with copper pipe. Sorted that problem. Besides I'm not really planning to do 90 in a 1.2 on the road.
They barely meet trade descriptions of what a door is 😂
They open, they close, they're not supporting the structure of the car. Not an MOT fail, but i'd prefer to hear it from someone who's tried to pass it.

The sound deadening was taken out 6 weeks ago. It's an 8v 1.2 so I'm only just hearing it at fast idle revs.

Judging from the replies, nobody has tried getting an MOT with FG doors fitted?

It's best to save your money, you'd be pissing in the wind with the amount of money you would save on fuel Vs how much you would actually spend. You'd probably get better MPG by adjusting your tappets, new fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs and coil pack with leads and adjusting your throttle cable

No .. because it's a stupid idea.

Yeah but the £400 worth of fibreglass will have saved £50 of fuel over the course of a year.

It sounds like you're determined to do it anyway but it's really not a great idea

well I've increased my MPG from 38.6 to 59.4 by just stripping the interior. The doors weigh more than the seats. I'm not into guesstimating but i've got my fingers crossed for 65MPG+

How much have you removed ? 50% increase in fuel economy for a 5% weight drop..

Take the doors off and you're probably going to be on to a return of 200mpg.

maybe i'm simplifying what I've done. But the bonnet and tailgate are already FG, The only interior items are the door handles, drivers 4kg bucket seat and seatbelt. I didn't weigh it before but the weights down to 697kg. Only other changes were a full service and cone intake filter.
