not a 172 but i'll give you my opinion.

Adv:

Corners like a baby!
Looks cool as slammed!
Doesn't scrub with 4 ppl in it even though it's still slammed!
Will make your car so much more driveable, if you like driving hard do it!

Dis:

ball joints and bearings wear quicker
harder to get over speed bumps! :(

Pics:

will post later on

£500 ish for them including posting
£200 for fitting, setting up and camber correction

^^ i can fit coilovers, thats no problem, ive done it on my 1.2

ive got a place near me that does the camber, tracking, alignment for less than £50

ive got quoted 430 delivered for fk coilovers

I've had mine on track and it was beating a 2.0 8v mk 2 golf stripped and setup for the track running slicks. all i done was take out ma sub n amp and back seats! DO IT!!

Means nothing you realy need pre and post lap time of fitting with the same driving experiance.

I've kept and overtaken M3's and GT3RS on track and coilovers were nowhere in sight.

save your money, standard set up is more than enough for road use and not to sloppy on track either.

i'm running standard setup and for most parts it is really good but at high speed cornering it does tend to get a bit twitchy and floaty which doesn't give you the confidence you want so i too will be looking for some coilovers soon. i think it is all down to how you drive and how hard you push it. for most standard setup would be fine

People complain about stock setup then rave about coilovers however there compairing a new damper with an 6 year old one.

FKs are a hard ride, H+R coilovers are just as comfy as standard 172 suspension, cup suspension and 182 with cup packs.:)

FKs will get boring.

Advantages:
Looks better lowered.
Camber adjustable

Disadvantages:
Handles piss poor too low
Needs a lot of time to have them setup "properly"
Costs a lot to have them setup properly
Crashy ride
Poor over pot holes and speed bumps, feels like the front end is about to fall off...

^ i'm getting this setup on the rears to go with the kw v2 fronts i've got fitted. Will report back with how they feel
