Fred...you'll be proud of me...

a little beford video from onboard my mg zs .
Forgive my driving its a bit lame ,id only had half an hour before this video to learn the track as id never been before .
Watch on full screen and turn up the sound to get a better perspective of whats going on .
The civic type r was supercharged and running 400 bhp.

Excellent video Dave :D

Nice to see someone else who uses all the track!

Typical M3 at the beginning.
That CSL wasn't happy on the brakes was he?
Was there a single 911 there that could drive?
What tyres were you running?

Looks like a very good day.

Cheers Mark
that csl had a huge spin just infront of pit exit ,i reckon it made him think a bit!
tbh there was a lot out there who didnt really seem to know what they were doing ,the 911's being no exception !! so really they were not hard to outdrive but it was fun sitting behind m series beemers and porsches entering the long straight were they thought they would simply pull away from me ,as you can see they couldnt ,lol.Even the sc civic type r only pulled a few lengths over the kilometre straight and seeing as he was on the gas first thats saying something.
I was running r888's ,i really like em ,very progressive and easy to push on ,grip was low on the day ,certainly a lot lower than last time i was at donington ,it was quite cold though and tyres were never getting really hot.

I only went out twice after sighting laps because i had a clutch pipe fail so lost hydraulic pressure, dead easy very cheap fix but i didnt have the parts with me and i ended up driving home 98 miles with no clutch at all ,that was fun i can tell you.

Ooh, f*** that. I'm ok clutchless up and down once on the move, but pulling away? Crank it on the starter?

Shame too, I've never had a mechanical failure yet that's called a halt to the day. Probably will now I've said that LOL.

its ironic ,i was talking to my mate about engine conversions and i said " im loathed to mess with it because it goes well and its been 100% relaible".I went back out and it failed after half a lap ,aaaargh!

I did manage to get some gears ,i could go up 3rd 4th 5th quite easy if i got the revs right ,at about 3500 rpm with revs falling it would snick in but going down gears was difficult .Unbelievably i never had to actually stop all the way home ,i got straight out at every roundabout ,went straight through all the traffic lights and got straight out at every junction,a bit of a miracle that one imo.
Initially to get going my mate pushed me with engine running and i crammed it in 2nd and set off thinking i was going to have to go nigh on 100 miles at 30 mph in 2nd gear!.

Superb vids m8. Although I think the SC Civic pulled more than a couple of car lengths on the 1st vid

Chris

did you watch it on full screen?
i spose it was a bit more than couple of lengths but he was on the gas first and he claims it has almost 200 bhp more than mine makes.
I doubt its making that power tbh ,ive been behind a 911 gt3 on track running 400 bhp and it pulled much more on me than the civic did, civics much lighter than a 911 gt3 too.
