George's TURBO 182

Likewise Andy!

I do indeed have good news, my problems were entirely down to a 10mm nut coming loose from the coil pack  problem solved! Thanks a million to Andrew Greer for coming to the rescue - genuinely astonishing after sales service.

I am similarly hoping to see and experience yours too mate.

Are you going to CSS by any chance?
Ah, it's great to hear that the issue was minor and I take my hat off to Andyrg for his exceptional support. After a while you learn who the trustworthy and reputable folk are!

Yes George, I will be at CSS with the Trophy. Sadly it won't be clean as I haven't had time to touch it as I'm flat out in work. It will still be sporting the dirt and grime accumulated whilst having the engine / gearbox rebuild, along with the grime (and track day tyres) from Llandow. In other words, it will be minging! But we will be there :)

Thing is, its actually wrong to call it "good customer service" from Andy, he is such a nice guy he would have no doubt helped out exactly the same way if you werent even a customer!

Just one of life's good guys :)

:) couldn't have Georges car not very well, so armed with every single spare, fuel pumps sensors, a flask of coffee we set off to the rescue yesterday afternoon. Replaced a 10mm nut that despite being thread locked on had loosened it self off :) get back at 2.30 this morning.

After sales is the key in my opinion.

Thanks george.

Top service again mate. Well done on you. :approve:

I haven't updated this for a while because there hasn't been anything to tell!

However, I took it up to clitoturbo.co.uk for a couple of minor issues I wanted andy to look at and some fluid changes (you can never have too many fluid changes). Engine out, sump off and Andy found these..

My oil squirters decided that they didn't like their original home.

It looks like I have gotten away with any permanent expensive damage and it'll just be a case of a cheeky rebuild. I am just pleased we found out now and not later on when it could have resulted in an engine failure.

It was me who built the engine.

When the block was bored the engineering company removed the oil squirt jets to allow it to be bored. They then refitted the new jets after the work was carried out. I collected the block, and the various other bits they had done and assembled the engine.

I stupidly didn't check they clearance of the jets as the company I used for the work have done many many Clio engines so just took them to be correctly fitted- clearly an error.

Since seeing this thread I have contacted Andy RG off my own back and the repair to George's engine will be done by Andy to no extra cost to George. I will be covering the cost.

I would again like to apologise to George and hope the car isn't off the road too long while this gets sorted for him.
