Golf's engine

we had a MK5 Golf come in with heavy tapping noise, well popped the rocker cover off and it had snapped a rocker, smashing it into the rocker cover

So whipped off the head, lots of bent valves and 4 pistons that looked like this

What engine is that then? looks to be a 20v from the way those valves have hit the piston. I didnt think they put 20v in a MK5?

Nope its a 1.9 TDi mate, the valves are offset in the head compared to normal design

ah, that'd explain the piston design then.

Hope the fellas got his car under warranty. Expensive job :S
