Harphamominom's Ph1 Project - sunflower content p12 onwards

  Inferno 225 cup
^^ no mate, I'm thinking spacers now I've lowered mine :(

On the plus side of things, I've found some turinis need a refurb £170 quid, so might go back and buy them.

^ That's cheap for Turinis. Without tyres?! Can always take them to that place in Birmingham and pay £20 per wheel ;).

I need to check over my detailing stock today, so that I can determine what I need to get hold of before Monday. I should really plan ahead moreso...

Ultra bulbs are shocking. I had some and tbh I would have been better off using candles to see where I was going.

They aren't actually too bad. They give off a really good light. Better than the standards that were on.

They do look awfully chavvy though. I took a s**te photo on the iPhone when I got home about half hour ago. (photo has come out really bad though. They are no where near as bright as the photo seems to show. You can actually see the side lights in normal life lol)

Do you hate the PI springs yet?
They're nowhere near as bad as what people have made them out to be. I got them pretty cheap tbf and well pleased with them for the price paid. Lowered the perfect amount, not too crashy/stiff and not too bouncy. Just right.
Ill wait until they're fully settled though ;)

Pre-CSS Detail Fail

Went to detail the car yesterday. Got part way through. My DA broke. Wicked. So, that means that the car will be a swirlbus for CSS.

Luckily, it still had a decent finish on it from the FCS detail a couple months back, so all i've done is re-sealed it and started to layer up some wax. I plan to wash it again on Friday and add atleast a couple more layers of wax, then add the finishing touches ready for Saturday.

Here's a quick Instagay photo of it this morning (which also shows lows - rear looks quite high in that photo)

CSS and Pre-CSS Photos

Just a few photos of the car at CSS and from the detail beforehand.

Couple more cheeky shots of my car pre-CSS that I found on my phone. The morning before setting off:

Devon

So, the day after CSS, Sarah and I made the trip down to Devon to stay in her parent's caravan for the week. We also 'had' to take the dog. Urgh.

Cue dog proofing the car...

3 layers on towels, plus a seat cover. That'll stop her from ruining them ;). I also lifted her in and out of the car, to minimise the risk of damage. "It's only a car, it's only a car". LOL

Plenty of crap to take down with us:

Stopped off at the services half way down (Michael Woodford is it, near Bristol?!), so thought id get a cheeky photo to see how low it looks.

Sat in the car park at Saunton Beach. (Bought it some more flowers)

Saw this every single day in Braunton. Sunflowers are common. Had a lovely dint on the passenger door and some nice big stickers on the rear, with the necessary Halfords "Sport" badge.

On the way home, this happened:
fcf3564b.jpg

Nearly had an accident on the way back, sat on the M5. Was cruising along in the middle lane, a car overtook in the fast lane and it's rear tyre blew, started swerving all over the place. I needed a change of pants. Luckily, the lady driving managed very well to keep control of the car and no one was hurt.

I started to clean up the car today a little bit. Decided that I want my rear seats out, as i'm going to be taking the bike out a lot in the coming weeks and don't want to damage the leather. Is there an easy way to get them out? I've read on here that it's an absolute ballache.

Oh and to add, the PI springs seem really good tbh. Even the OH didn't find them bad in the 700+ miles we've done this week and she thought that the 200 was stiff/uncomfortable at times. Glad that I got them now. :)

  lots of clios.
I had a 182 lower grill in a non sport ph1 bumper back in the day.

Pics look good, Tempted to get some F1's back on. Stop it!

^ I look at yours Stu and fancy some 2118's . What I do seriously want though is some winter wheels. *Ahem*RedF1s*Ahem*.
As soon as I have enough pennies...

A 182 lower grill will not be going on the car. Id like to keep Ph2 parts (minus spoiler) away from it ;).

The rear seats take about 10mins to remove you raging homo ;)

Good time in Devon?
Really? I read on here that it's an absolute ballache, plus the bolt seems to be in an awkward position LOL ;)

Yeah, Devon was wicked, minus coming back looking like a giant tomato. Massive burns. Oh and having to have a dog in the car all week.

Is it just literally that star-drive (or whatever they're called) bolt to undo, then done? That was the stumbling block I believe, as I read on here that people were having to drill them out or something?!

  340i
Two bolts hold the rear seats in place... they can be seized in place sometimes, just a little WD40 and sympathy gets them out.

Only reason they ever need to be drilled out is people using a torx bit on a screwdriver or similar and slipping off all the time so rounding the head off.

Torx bit in a nice big ratchet, LOADS of downwards force and it's easy.

Ok, so as usual, I was being a r****d. Took the seats out with ease this morning and put over the car seat cover that I used for transporting the dog last week. Now have plenty of leeway in the rear to get the bike in and out, without damaging any of the seats. Hopefully this will work out a bit better. (Looks alright too ;))

Quick Clean & Tidy Up

Gave the car a good clean today. Surprised at how much tar is covering the car already (done about 1k miles since it's last clean the day before CSS). Literally covered in the stuff. Dunno whether i've been driving on some dodgy roads or something...

But anyway, hoovered the car out, gave it a wash, removed the Yorkshire CS sticker (was a bit dodgy - dirt/water was getting underneath where the Clio lettering is) and added a SexWax sticker (because surfer and I liked the look of them in Devon).

Took a few photos today, after giving it a quick clean.

Sunflower - After Quick Clean - 27/8/12 by Harpham y0, on Flickr

Proper itching to do things to the car now. Need moniezz.
Now that i've got the aesthetics pretty much sorted, i wanted to make it feel tighter and feel new, so I want to sort out uprated engine/gearbox mounts and the dogbone. I'm hoping that ill be able to afford this before winter really kicks in, along with another service.

Oh and when I was taking the photos earlier, I decided that I need a splitter. Skoda may have to be called upon. Because pikey.

Btw, does anybody know where I can get the bumper insert stickers? Or some made up? (as pictured - see the difference between mine & Stu's front end?!)

I enquired with Wests a couple weeks back, but sack paying £34 for what will essentially be 4 little stickers.

I also want another set of F1's for some silly reason, so that I can be uber cool and have some winter wheels. I want Stu's red F1's.
Hi
405026_10151732859510105_681846961_n.jpg

I have a silly obsession with red wheels. I'm sure i've wanted red wheels on 3 out of 5 of my Clios.
